The Amphibious Cars

Isn't it wonderful how far we've come along with technology for cars? I mean we have cars that run on electricity, power from the sun, and even vegetable oil. Now we have cars that actually go on land and in water-it's actually been around for a while, but people are always wanting to improve it; kind of like how people are always improving computers.
These cars are called Amphibious Cars and have been used mainly for warfare. One of the first amphibious car dates all the way back to the Neapolitan Prince Raimondo di Sangro of Sansevero, which was in 1750. In 1805, a man named Oliver Evans designed the first amphibious vehicle that was self-propelled and steam-powered-this was called the Orukter Amphibolos (it's sounds super cool, right?). Similar to the history of the wheel, there's is no specific name that was recorded in regards to who was the very first one to invent this device, but researchers do know that the expansion of this really began in 1899. When the late 1920s rolled around, they decided to really combine the automobile and the boat. When they first realized that they can integrate these two things, they just put the axles and the wheels on something called the boat hull; but we have obviously come so much farther since then. Since they first started designing and improving them, they have invented some with specific purposes like search & rescues, expeditions, but mainly the military.
When the W.W.II rolled around, the two most important amphibious cars were invented. One was called the German Schwimmwagen. I know it's a weird name, but just bare with me on this one. It kind of looked like a small 4x4 Jeep that was actually designed by Porsche in 1942. The second one was called the Amphi Ranger that was also German. It was made out of Aluminum called AIMg2 that was sea water-resistant. I have no idea if they still make wheels like that for models such as the regular Land Rover Wheels, but you never know, right? Anyway, only about 100 were built-which means that they were most likely really expensive and pretty changeling to make.
Most people don't know that a great number of land vehicles can be amphibious by simply installing them with a waterproof hull and a propeller; but let's not get any crazy ideas. The way the car propels is done merely by spinning their wheels or using water jets (also known as screw propellers). As of now, there are many countries that have developed their own amphibious vehicles and have actually offered tours on these lovely cars. The countries include Japan, Canada, and even Budapest... where the Parliament is located.
The Hovercraft is the most commonly known amphibious vehicle that's mainly used by the military. It's called an ACV (Air-Cushioned Landing Craft) that is created to obviously travel in land and water; it's supported by low-pressure air that's released below the vehicle. Technically, the Hovercraft can work on anything smooth, rough, and everything else that you can possibly imagine... kind of.

The New Maruti Suzuki SX4 ZXi

No Compromise On Safety
The professional verdict has it. This car can be rated as the no-noisy, great pick-up car enabling a smooth zip-zap even on rough roads. Channelizing the distance with a peppy drive, Maruti Suzuki SX4 ZXi, with a little tap on the accelerator, zooms with good speed.
Key Features
The car's fuel average rates up to 12 km per liter of petrol. The ZXi, in contrast to the VXi model, provides a high ground clearance of 190 mm, a road-runner. The catch-up speed of Maruti SX4 can be rated good as it can be calculated up to 12.1 seconds to 100kph. Moreover, incorporated is a strong mid-range that increases swiftness in the movement of the car, from 2500rpm to 5000rpm.
To enable speeding up on corners, the car grants a great grip and incorporated wide tires. The engine has a firm instant brake in combo with the anti-lock system ascertaining a comfortable and secure ride, in case of rapid speed change. Coming to the fuel economy, the SX4 engine gives 9.3kpl on city roads and 14.5kpl on highways.
Design
The interior design of the car is a little advanced Maruti version, demonstrating great comfort design interest. Space is not an issue with Maruti Suzuki SX4 ZXi. The big wheels are a drawback to the look factor but provide a function of being at height, protecting the base of the car especially on speed breakers. The slant faced car along with a similar belt-line imparts a look so sleek.
With an enormous 500-litre boot, Maruti SX4 ZXi is operated with an electric power steering. Black interiors underscore the macho look in contrast to chrome. A rare-but-great combination! Power window buttons are a part of the opulent automobile. The car also provides a bottle-holder on all door pockets and has an option of leather seats.
Cons
The speed potentiality of the engine is apparently compromised; since it lacks the optimum usage. It could have otherwise been a great performing car provided there was a changing valve timing operating system. A change in the speed is not supported by the already suspension setup of the SX4, as it is way too stiff, making it uncomfortable to ride with drastic change in speed. Attention-seeking, the car requires constant modifications for a comfort ride, owing to its inconsistent steering.
Conclusion
The sedan compiles style, performance, security, and comfort. Popular among the car connoisseurs, this car comes in enchanting colors from the palette and gains significance in the eyes of potential buyers. It can be rated to possess good; but not great looks. Summarizing the equipments, SX4 stands quality. Maruti offers ABS, Airbags, temperature control, leather seats, and audio controls on remote.

The 2010 Cadillac SRX

The 2010 Cadillac SRX falls under the category of the conventional fully modern luxury crossover vehicle. The SRX model is sharing most of the features from the General Motors's other vehicles. The powertrain used in the SRX is the biggest difference when compared with the Provoq model. It uses the E-Flex powertrain that is based on the Volt along with an extender, the fuel cell range.
The design of the vehicle has more aggressive SUV appearance. The most notable difference between the SRX and the Provoq is the grille. The fuel cell powered Provoq had the controlling the shutters in grille that opens and closes depending on the cooling demands by the powertrain. While in the SRX, the system is reverted much similar to the STS and the CTS models. The fog lights that work on the LED technology in the front corners have been replaced by the more conservative looking lights. The vehicle appears like a Cadillac and fits with the family of CTS cars.
More conventional door handles, side mirrors, tail pipes and the door handles have been changed when compared with the predecessor model Provoq. The navigation screen unit is fitted in the vehicle, similar to that of CTS. The vehicle comes with the parking brakes that are operated electronically and can be activated by the use of switch on the console, which is located at the left side of the shift lever. The footwell space in the vehicle is freed up by the EPB other wise the space would be occupied by the foot activated unit.

The 2010 GMC Terrain

2010 GMC Terrain is another excellent compact crossover SUV from the house of General Motors. The Chevy Equinox and Terrain share several auto parts and even the basic architectural design, though Equinox looks more like a redesigned Terrain.
Looking at the salient features of the latest generation Terrain models, you'll discover that General Motors has incorporated several unique things in the new Terrain such as the 2 pulse techniques with a direct infuse engine injection that helps the engine in starting up faster in cold weather too.
The 2010 Terrain will be marketed in four trims viz SLT-1, SLT-2 as well as SLE-1, and SLE-2. The SLE-1 and 2 will be the base trims offering the standard features, while the SLT trims will offer heated front seats, leather upholstery, and other advanced features.
In 2010 GMC Terrain, fuel economy is going to be yet another extraordinary aspect. A 4-cylinder model with front-wheel drive has bagged EPA calculation of 22mpg on city and 32 mpg on highways, making an overall average of 26 mpg altogether; this is stupendous for an SUV of its kind. The 3L V6 also achieves 20+ mpg, along with plentiful power punch to tackle the hilly tracks. The latest generation V6 powered GMC Terrain comes with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds.
What's more, the new Terrain isn't going to be a costly affair despite all its goodness, and will stand forth in the race of the most affordable compact crossover SUVs as well. So, keep an eye on its release this year, and how it really performs when it hits the roads worldwide.

The King of Music: The Car MP3 Player

The king of the music scene, the Mp3 player, is a gadget that can be used anywhere, including the car. There are a number of ways you can connect your Mp3 player; through a car Mp3 player, an FM transmitter or a tape deck. All of these work, but like any technology have a number of disadvantages and advantages.

Car Mp3 Player:
Car Mp3 players are an easy way to connect your mp3 player to your stereo. With their built in connection ports, it's very quick and easy to access your music. Moreover, integrated Blue-tooth makes connecting to your I-phone virtually effortless - streaming music and answering the phone in the car has never been this easy!
Car Mp3 players are the most appropriate for those wanting to replace their stereo, however, Mp3 stereos are still relatively expensive and can cost up to £500. So, if you are interested in purchasing an Mp3 player, I recommend you add extra security options into your car as well as take out insurance.

Fm Transmitter:
This is a very cheap and simple way of attaching your Mp3 player to your stereo - all you need is a compatible mp3 player and an Fm stereo. There are, however, a few problems with this method as sound quality is often poor as the quality relies on where you are and any interference caused by the weather. The sound quality is particularly bad in urban areas due to the large amount of radio station signals; hence, this device is better suited to rural areas where there will be less radio station interference.

Car Tape Deck:
If you don't want to replace your old stereo or simply want to continue listening to your tapes, as well as your Mp3's, hooking up your Mp3 player to your tape deck is ideal and cost effective way to do this. Simply connect the Mp3 cassette to the headphones port in the Mp3 player (a connection wire is supplied with the Mp3 cassette). The main disadvantage is the poor sound quality, as like normal tapes; the Mp3 cassette is prone to sound distortion. However, if you are not fussy over sound quality, this is one of the cheapest ways to listen to your Mp3's.

All of these ways enable you to listen to your Mp3 player in the car. If you need a cost effective way to listen to your Mp3's, the last two options may be best for you. However, investing in an in-car Mp3 player is still relatively inexpensive and there are many on the market for those on a budget. And if your stereo looks like it is soon to be out of order, then it is probably best to replace it with a much newer model.

Lamboghini Toro LA 690 - 4 Concept

Lamborghini returns to the world of frontal engines...at least in fantasy land
Lamboghini Toro LA 690-4 ConceptLamboghini Toro LA 690-4 Concept

I’m really loving this concept Lamborghini — titled the Toro LA 690-4. Designed by University of Montreal industrial design student Amadou Ndiaye, the car is a modern revision of the classic Lamborghini Espada, but does an excellent job of incorporating…

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Do you love Super Cars? Well if you do then you just have to check out the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640! This Awesome new Lamborghini can really Rock and Roll! With two different body choices available. You can choose between a standard coupe or a convertible roadster. Although the roadster is not really a convertible, it is more like a targa top.
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe -
The standard Murcielago LP640 coupe comes with the standard 6.5 liter V12 that pumps out an amazing 632 horsepower and a stum pulling 660 foot pounds of tourqe. To be able to put all that power to the ground takes one heck of a drivetrain.
When you buy the standard coupe you have the choice between the paddle shifted 6 speed e-gear automated clutch manual transmission or the standard Lamborghini 6 speed manual transmission with a gated metal shifter. Also standard on the Murciélago LP640 coupe is all wheel drive, along with front, center, and rear limited slip differentials.
So what does this all meen? It meens 0 to 60 times in the low to mid 3 second range, and a Super Car top speed of 211 miles per hour!
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster -
The Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster is for the person who has money to burn and wants to feel the wind blowing through their hair at speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour. When you decide to buy the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster it tacks on an additional $33,000 onto the base price of the standard Murcielago LP640 Coupe. Then if you figure in options, and let me tell you there are a lot of options available. It is very easy to drop another $60,000 or more before you walk out the dealers door!
really is not much different than the standard coupe. It looks pretty much the same. It even has the wonderful head turning scissor doors, but there are a few minor differences. There are additional cooling vents behind the air intakes, and a retractable canvas roof are the main differences. Performance is fairly comparable with the standard coupe. The canvas roof panel is only meant for driving around at normal speeds, and should never be installed when you want to do those high speed runs down the road. It is just made of thin canvas and the back pressure from high speeds has the possibility of sucking off the car.

Mercedes SLR Stirling Moss

British legend's name given to final editions of the SLR supercar. Mercedes-Benz has revealed details of an exclusive SLR inspired by British motor racing legend, Stirling Moss. Only 75 will be made, each costing €750,000 (£710,810).
The SLR Stirling Moss is a roofless and windowless version of the Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster, featuring a supercharged, 5,439cc V8 engine developing 650bhp. It accelerates from 0-62mph in less than 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 217mph.

Moss won many racers for Mercedes in its SLR racers during the 1950s and this tribute to his sublime skills recalls the sleek 300 SLR in which he and Denis Jenkinson famously won the 1955 Mille Miglia road race in Italy during a record-breaking drive from Brescia to Rome and back. The pair’s average speed was almost 98mph.

Like the series production SLR, the bodywork is made from carbon-fibre, with the bonnet continuing into the passenger compartment. Minuscule wind deflectors protect the two occupants from the airflow, while air scoops integrated into the bodywork behind the seats serve as roll-over bars. The SLR Stirling Moss also has a larger rear diffuser than that fitted to the SLR Coupe and Roadster.

There’s also an airbrake to aid deceleration from high speeds, which deploys during heavy braking from speeds above 75mph.

The minimalist interior features carbon-fibre, aluminium-alloy and fine leather, with an aluminium-alloy plate engraved with Moss’s signature situated by the gearlever.

Production of the SLR Stirling Moss will begin in June 2009, when the standard SLR ceases production, and the run of 75 examples is expected to be completed by next December.

BMW X5M and BMW X6M - SUVs With M Power?

At my visit to the last Frankfurt Motor show, I was able to view the new X5M and X6M up close. The standard X5 and X6 are both stunning off-road but when BMW have worked their magic on them and produced an M version - they really are something special.
Some purists are asking why BMW have produced an M version of an SUV. Their opinion is that the M treatment should be used only to produce road going racers like the original E30 M3. Whilst there has been nothing quite like the E30 M3 since, all M models are spectacular cars in their own right.
For me personally, the X5M and X6M particularly catch my imagination as I like to see how the two very different concepts of an SUV and M power can be combined to produce something special. On reflection, maybe that should be three very different concepts as the X5 and X6 are already a combination of off-road and luxury car.
Whilst the X5M and X6M are unlikely to be seen on the race track (possibly with the exception of Paris-Dakar), their performance would certainly be a match for many with 555BHP and 0-62MPH in 4.5 seconds from the V8 4.4 litre twin turbo engine and intelligent x-Drive system.
Sitting in the driving seat of both cars, they are unmistakeably BMWs but the new style electronic auto gear knob bearing the M logo says that they are something special. Whilst on the subject of auto transmission, those same purists argue that no M car should be an auto. I beg to differ. If I won the lottery tomorrow and went out to buy one of these cars, I wouldn't be taking it on a race track so why would I need a manual gear box?
Away from the race track, the future is auto. Having to maneuver a metal rod into invisible channels to change gear while pushing an extra pedal is a thing of the past in my opinion. On the congested roads of modern times, an automatic is far more sensible.
There are still the age old arguments used by those who last drove an auto in the early 1970s or perhaps have never driven one at all. Rubbish such as an auto is dangerous because it could change up in mid corner or that they can drive faster with a manual transmission, is still waffled out even today.
I say that a modern electronically controlled auto transmission is far more capable than the gear changing skills of most of us on today's roads. As far as I am concerned, an M car with an auto makes perfect sense and when it is in an X5M or X6M then we are all one step closer to utopia.

The 2010 Subaru Outback

The 2010 Subaru Outback has some new engine options based on their new models that were not available in the 2009 line. It seems that all of the 2010 Outback models have been made to give the consumer better gas mileage.

The 2010 Subaru Outback Limited 3.6R AWD model offers a 3.6L, 256hp, H6 engine, as opposed to 2009's 3L, 245hp, H6 engine. The Torque is now 247 @ 4400 RPM, as opposed to last year's 215 @ 4200. While still consisting of 4 valves, the new Outback has a 3630 displacement, up from the 2999 offered in the 2009 model. The 2010 offers a 3.6 x 3.6 inch bore/stroke, with the 2009 offering only 3.5 x 3.1. The compression ratio is down to 10.5:1, as opposed to the 2009 model's 10.7:1. The changes have resulted in a little better gas mileage, with the 2010 Subaru Outback getting an estimated 18mpg city and 25 highway, as opposed to the 2009's 17 and 24 respectively.

The engine options for the Subaru Outback 2.5i are pretty much the same as the 2009 model, with the exception of the horsepower and torque. While the engine is still a 2.5L, 170hp, H4, the new model's horsepower is 170 @ 5600 RPM, while the 2009 model was 170 @ 6000 rpm. The torque is also similar but now measures at 170 @ 4000 RPM, while last year it hit 170 @ 4400 RPM. This has resulted in the 2010 Outback 2.5i getting an estimated 22mpg city and 29mpg highway, which bests last year's model that was estimated at 20 and 26 respectively.

Cool James Bond Cars

Across 46 years, 22 films and six leading actors, the James Bond film legacy has featured some of the world’s most luxurious and iconic sportscars. From the signature Aston Martin DB5 in Goldfinger to the Lotus Esprit Turbo in For Your Eyes Only, 007 has spared no expense in choosing his wheels. To celebrate the release of the Quantum of Solace, here’s a list of the 007 hottest cars from the James Bond Legacy…

001: the BMW Z8
In the 1999 film The World Is Not Enough, James Bond piloted this bad little Beemer before it was officially produced by BMW. Apparently, those are the kind of perks that accompany a license to kill. During filming, the crew actually used a series of working mock-ups of the Z8 that vary a bit from the official production car. After the first model rolled out of the factory, all 5,703 of the original BMW Z8’s sold out, going for a starting price of $128,000.

002: the Alfa Romeo 159
The Alfa Romeo 159 is among the latest James Bond sportscars, as featured in the 2008 Bond film Quantum of Solace. This one, however, isn’t driven by 007– but a chase scene rival pitted against Bond’s Aston Martin. During the production of the film, the set was closed down due to a third and terrible accident where a stuntman driving the 159 crashed into a wall. The stuntman was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he lay in a coma for days– the same hospital in which he was treated for injuries in shooting the same scene days prior. If you perform your own stunts and want a piece of the Bond villainy action, you can get your hands on an Alfa Romeo 159 for around $33k before import costs…

003: the 1971 Mustang Mach-1
In 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever, 007 took to the streets of Las Vegas in a Ford Mustang Mach-1– in hot pursuit of the Las Vegas Police. Diamonds was Sean Connery’s last film, but also the first film in history to feature the now-famous “two-wheeled stunt”, where a car is lifted off the ground, balancing on two wheels on one side of the car. The ‘71 Mach-1 featured plenty of muscle in its 429hp V8 option, which will fetch you around $25,000 well-restored on today’s market.

004: the Aston Martin DBS
Bond’s Aston Martin finally got itself a facelift. Like the BMW Z8, the Aston Martin DBS was featured in a Bond film before it hit the public. This $265,000 Aston Martin features a 6.0L V12 pushing 510 horses to hit 62mph in 4.3 seconds. The DBS was pitted against that Alpha Romeo 159 above, and this one didn’t escape without bruises either. During filming, a stuntdriver reportedly lost control of the Aston Martin– which wound up in Lake Garda in Italy…

005: the Toyota 2000GT
Produced between 1967 and 1970, the Toyota 2000GT was built in very limited numbers, designed to show that Japanese autos could compete with the sportscars of Europe. Apparently James Bond took notice, as the 2000GT was famously featured in 1967’s You Only Live Twice. However, Bond’s 2000GT had a slight problem– Sean Connery was too tall to fit in the Toyota, so a convertible version was made to compensate. While the original 2000GT sold in the U.S. for $6,800, it can be found at auction today for as high as $200,000.

006: the Lotus Esprit
In 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me featuring Roger Moore, the Lotus Esprit became one of Q’s most impressive sportscar mods. In a long chase scene between 007 and the infamous Bond-villain Jaws, Bond’s Lotus Esprit makes a cunning escape by transforming into a fully-diveable submarine. While a submersible version featuring that bikini blonde above are not available today, a similar Lotus Esprit could be originally purchased for around $16,800 at the dealer in 1977.

007: the Aston Martin DB5
Last but certainly not least– the original Bond-mobile, the 1963 Aston Martin DB5. In the 1964 film Goldfinger, 007 was provided with a weaponized DB5 by Q Branch himself. Aston Martin, however, wasn’t so keen on the deal. After much negotiating, Aston Martin finally agreed to a product placement deal that made automotive history for the brand. The DB5 was the latest-and-greatest sportscar to be produced in the UK, initially selling for $13,000. Its inline six engine produced 282hp to hit 62mph in 8.1 seconds. Bond’s version, however, was outfitted with an array of gadgets from smokescreens to heavy machine guns. Its not the weaponry that makes the Aston Martin DB5 a legend– it is its design which symbolizes the class and cool that has made James Bond the legend he is today. If there is one car that fully explains what StyleCrave is about, you’re looking at it, front and center.

The HTT Plethore LC750

Not only is the Plethore a car that looks the part, drives the wheels off its chassis and offers limited production exclusivity, this car is potentially the first super-car to be launched successfully out of Canada. Others have attempted, notably the Motion Concept Vehicle creation, but the feat never really achieved any concrete success. With star appearances at SEMA and International Auto Shows, the hype is building and it's only a matter of time now for owners to get their high tech toy in their driveways. HTT says it plans to limit production to 50 units per year, but has a long ways to reach those numbers. First year of production should see 8 models roll out.
The Plethore's frame and body is built from lightweight carbon fibre which has contributed dearly to its extremely low curb weight of approximately 2500lbs (or 1150kg). To site an example of its mastered weight-savings, the Ferrari Enzo weighs in at about 3000 lbs (or approximately 1380kg). Apart from its weight-watchers' ways, the Plethore super-car is; super quick. Claimed 0-100km/h times of 2.8 seconds and a top speed well past 350km/h will make any speed junky get his fix before he can even get the itch.

The power is sourced from a 6.2L, supercharged V8 pushing out 750hp and HTT has been sited saying it plans to offer a second version with even more power; in the vicinity of 1300hp! With the 750hp model being powered by the Corvette's LS9 engine, we wonder what engine will accommodate the company's bigger ambitions of 1300hp; we think they will want to engineer it in-house. The car will run on a 6 speed manual gearbox but plans are in the work for alternative transmissions.
The company's high ambitions don't stop with producing the first Canadian road super-car, it plans on having the car FIA regulated so that it can see some track action. Sources say the company would like the car to enter Le Mans competition.
The overall design is at the top super-car level and just looks the part. There is no question as to if this car can play with the big toys. The question lies in its driving ability and its potential to be on car collectors' shopping lists. I believe auto enthusiasts alike will praise its new coming as they did with the famous Saleen S7, which has also seen much track time. With an exquisitely finished interior and its particular driving position; it simply completes itself. It just has massive loads of character, all that mass and the aggressive stance is absolutely eye-catching. When we first saw the prototype version at the Montreal Auto Show, it was confidently sitting with the high ranks of its league and looked ready to take on the cynics. I can't wait to see this creation on the road.

The Porsche Cayenne Exudes Class and Elegance

The Porsche Cayenne is considered by many to be one of Porsche's most brilliant creations. Just one look at this mid-size SUV will tell you that it is genuine Porsche pedigree. From the 911-esque headlights to the standard Porsche dual exhausts, it exudes class, elegance, and to the trained eye, just a hint of aggression. This SUV hauls quite the load as far as people and equipment are concerned, but also has straight-line and cornering performance that rivals that of sports cars. It is, quite frankly, one of the best all-around vehicles in the world.
The 4.8 liter V8 that comes in the Porsche Cayenne S is a 385 horsepower powerhouse that will launch this three and a half ton SUV from 0-60 in roughly 6.5 seconds. For those keeping score, that's fast enough to keep up with the all-new VW GTI, a 3000 pound hatchback. This normally-aspirated V8 is more than capable for towing as well; with 369 foot-pounds of torque, the Cayenne S will tow more than its own weight (maximum towing capacity: 7716 pounds). With sure-footed all wheel drive and flat torque curve, towing up even the steepest hills is a snap.
Some Porsche drivers want more, and more they'll get. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, powered by a 550 horsepower monster of a turbocharged 4.8 liter V8, will rocket the driver and his 6800 pound machine to 60 miles per hour in about four and a half seconds. 553 foot-pounds of torque comes standard, making even the heaviest towing job a breeze. Gas mileage isn't exactly the Cayenne's strong suit, but those wanting to save a bit of money can opt for the base Cayenne model. This comes with a 3.2 liter V6, and boasts 14 mpg in the city, and 20 mpg on the highway.

New and Improved 2010 Saab 9-3x

As a result of customer feedback and to maintain a competitive edge, Saab has changed a great deal in the past few years and is taking on a whole new persona these days. The 2009 Saab 9-7x 4.2 liter I-6 engine offered a simple and efficient engine that is definitely not turbo-charged. The engine is actually a GM designed engine that was created for efficient power and fuel economy.
Offering the double overhead cam, the engine burned the fuel outside the actual working cylinders increasing the airflow in and out of the cylinders and increasing the performance and potential of this well built engine. The 4.2 liter I-6 engine also offers a number of features, each of them ultimately adding to an optimal performance:
* Bore/stroke ratio of 92.0 mm x 102.0 mm
* 285 Horsepower
* 10:3 Compression Ratio
* Variable valve timing/camshaft
As with all cars, the new one has grown up and a newer one has been born. The 2010 Saab 9-3x is a turbocharged improvement from the 2009 9-7x. There are two engine options that have been revealed thus far for the 2010 9-3x:
* 210 hp 2.0L Turbocharged Petrol Engine
* 280 hp 1.9L TTID Turbo diesel Engine
Each of these engines offers a great deal more performance out of the SUV as well as more capabilities in towing and overall drive, two qualities that the consumer finds attractive. The 2010 9.3x has actually been said to go from 0 to 60mph in 8.2 seconds; an enhancement from the former 2009 9-7x. The simplicity of the 4.2L I-6 engine is still a comfort for those that aren't looking for too much in the way of overall power.
