2010 Nissan Rogue Review

The 2010 Nissan Rogue , the Nissan Rogue is a decent value within its class. "If you can live with Rogue's sometimes harsh ride, this little Nissan might make sense."
The new model is priced only $120 more than the 2009 Rogue.

Cars.com doesn't warm up to the design, though, declaring it a “hackneyed design” and deems its styling “bland.”
Inside, the five-passenger Rogue gets a chunky interior design that borrows a bit from all of Nissan’s cars and crossovers. “The interior is one of the Rogue's highpoints,” Cars.com declares.
The 2010 Nissan Rogue is a five-passenger compact crossover SUV available in S, S Krom Edition or SL trim.

The Krom Edition starts with the S model's standard equipment and adds 17-inch dark alloy wheels, a different grille and front fascia, center-mounted exhaust, a rear spoiler, tinted windows and steering wheel audio controls. The SL's Leather package includes the expected leather upholstery plus heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated side mirrors, a six-way power driver seat, a one-touch up/down driver window and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. For more Style information,
The 2010 Nissan Rogue is available with either front- or all-wheel drive. In our testing, an AWD Rogue SL took 9.2 seconds to reach 60 mph, which is competitive with other four-cylinder compact crossovers.

The front-wheel-drive Rogue has an EPA estimate of 22 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 24 mpg in combined driving.

The Nissan Rogue comes standard with antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. Front and rear side-impact tests resulted in five-star ratings. The "2010 Nissan Rogue" boasts one of the nicest interiors of any compact crossover at its price point. Unlike the rear seats of competing crossovers, however, the Rogue's don't recline or slide fore and aft.

2011 Nissan Juke

If times were better and Nissan could sell you a sports car, the 2011 Nissan Juke might not exist.

The Juke is a new crossover priced right around $20,000. Nissan thinks it can sell 25,000 to 30,000 Jukes annually in the U.S. Of course, you're never going to have the same feelings for the 2011 Nissan Juke that you would for a Z-car, but the Juke is now the most interesting drive in Nissan's small-car lineup by a wide margin.

The 2011 Nissan Juke shares its platform with the Nissan Versa and Cube, and has a 99.6-inch wheelbase like the Cube. Total interior volume is 97.2 cubic feet in the Juke versus 112.5 cubic feet in the Versa and 109.1 cubic feet in the Cube.

The 1.6-liter turbo is one of three engines being offered worldwide in the Nissan Juke.

As you drive the 2011 Nissan Juke, you also realize that Nissan still knows how to build fun, small cars. On the whole, the" 2011 Nissan Juke" strikes us as a poor man's Mini Countryman.
Meet the Juke, Nissan's new controversially-styled small car. The Juke's unusual design is bound to be the car's focal point, and that's a shame, because the rest of the car is no less radical. From the powertrain to the packaging to the control layout, everything about the Juke is a major step ahead for Nissan. For those who have traveled to Europe, the Juke may not seem that unusual; Nissan pioneered the Juke's bug-eye look (link goes to photo) on the Euro-market Nissan Micra, while the taillights look like they were swiped from Volvo, presumably while the Swedes were sleeping.

The Juke offers its driver a pleasantly upright seating position, with big windows and huge side view mirrors that provide excellent visibility. My test car had leather seats and jazzy-looking red paint on the door pulls and center console
.

I can tell you that I've never driven a 1.6 liter car hustles like the Juke does. (Nissan will also offer a 6-speed stick.) Speaking of aggression, our press preview took place tantalizingly close to the About.com Top Secret Curvy Test Road, so I took a little unauthorized detour to see how the Juke responded when pushed -- and the Juke loved it. The Juke exhibited amazing grip, precise steering, and great balance, all complemented by the eager turbo engine. On the freeway, the Juke rode comfortably, if a bit noisily; I'm sure production models will be quieter.

The Juke may be controversial, but at least it stands out.
Assuming the technology on the Juke spreads to other Nissan models, I may yet wind up with a Nissan in my garage.

The 2010 Nissan Versa ranks 13 out of 31 Affordable Small Cars. With a base MSRP of around $10,000, the 2010 Nissan Versa is a serious contender for the position of least expensive affordable small car on the market. While the Versa is praised for its soft-touch interior materials, roomy back seat and versatile cargo space, the base model has fewer standard features than almost any other car in its class. Moreover, safety features like anti-lock brakes -- which are standard on most models now -- are optional upgrades on the base Versa. It's a reviewer favorite for its long list of standard features, versatile cargo space and zippy ride. It has a low starting price of only $12,355 and a list of standard safety features that trumps almost every other car in the class.
The Versa comes as a sedan or hatchback.

The 1.8SL hatchback offers an optional Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) rather than the four-speed auto. Safety comes from six standard airbags, active head restraints, tire pressure monitoring, anti-lock brakes (optional on 1.6, standard on 1.8S and SL) and electronic stability control (optional on 1.8S, standard on 1.8SL).

Nissan Also Announced Pricing

So true: Juke comes as there has been presented, with people around the strange lights in the bumper, tail lights are very busy with fenders and a unique giant as three ovals under these helmets. But back to the car: the price will be just like we said 16 490 of Visia, Acenta and 18 440 to 20 840 to

There will also be aspirated 1.6 petrol unit (117 hp and 158 Nm) and 1.5 DCI (110 bhp and 240 Nm), while the 1.6 turbo engine in the 2WD version is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while wheel drive , above range, there XTRONIC CVT automatic transmission with six speed manual. This technology maximizes stability and agility of the car, enhancing driving dynamics and comfort: it increases the distribution of torque to the outer corner of the rear wheels to increase speed and reduce understeer

2011 Nissan Leaf Review

The 2011 Nissan Leaf is poised to shake up what people expect from their cars. Though it's priced high for an affordable small car, the Nissan Leaf does not use gasoline. So far, reaction to the 2011 Nissan Leaf has been positive. The electric powertrain on the "Nissan Leaf" means smooth acceleration and braking. The 2011 Nissan Leaf, Those credits significantly lower the price on the 2011 Nissan Leaf. Plus, the Nissan Leaf is expected to have much lower operating costs than a gasoline-powered car. If you're looking for an affordable mass-market electric car, the Nissan Leaf is your only option.

The 2011 Nissan Leaf will go on sale in select markets in late 2010. The Nissan Leaf is an all-electric car, so it doesn't release emissions as it drives. The Nissan Leaf is a four-door hatchback. Final information on the 2011 Nissan leaf isn't out yet. Keep checking back for the latest information on the 2011 Nissan Leaf.

The electric car might finally be ready for prime time. Unlike current hybrids like the Toyota Prius, the Leaf is powered purely by electricity and it doesn't have a tailpipe. The Nissan Leaf is slated to arrive in dealerships by December of 2010.

The 2011 Nissan Leaf stores its power in a lithium-ion battery pack, also making it one of the first vehicles to use this advanced battery technology. Driving the Leaf's front wheels is an 80-kilowatt electric motor. Nissan promises an effective range of about 100 miles and a top speed of 90 mph.

Pricing for the "2011 Nissan Leaf" is expected to be surprisingly affordable once government tax credits are applied. Of course, buyers will need to consider the cost of installing a home charging station, which Nissan estimates will cost $2,200 before a 50 percent tax credit. In our initial drives with a prototype Leaf, we've found it surprisingly fun to drive. Most people's concern will likely be the vehicle's range. One problem, however, is the lack of an electric-car recharging infrastructure. If you're nowhere near home or a recharging station, you run the risk of running out of power and becoming stranded.

2010 Los Angeles Auto Show Nissan

At the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, Nissan has unveiled a concept design that points the way toward some of its next-generation sedan models—even though Nissan swears that its Ellure show car is not “intended as preview of any upcoming production model,” in the words of Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s chief creative officer.

Instead, it’s “an expression of [Nissan’s] long-term vision for the next generation of sedans,” and one that has “an emotive, almost hidden ambience that comes to life after dark” despite the sedan’s “unmatched daytime functionality.”

Nissan has a long history of doing compact-to-midsize sedans right in broad daylight, with its sporty Altima family. In a market where sedan buyers have migrated to crossovers, the Ellure five-passenger sedan could help attract sedan shoppers back--to a design that's potentially more fuel-efficient.

At 190 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 57 inches high, the Ellure is about the same length and width as the 2011 Nissan Altima, though it's several inches lower. Preview of Nissan’s own hybrid
More seriously, the Ellure’s proportions accommodate a “next-generation hybrid powertrain” that mates a 240-horsepower supercharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine to a 25-kilowatt (35-horsepower) electric drive motor with a clutch on either end.
The drive motor is mounted between the blown engine and a Nissan Xtronic continuously-variable transmission (CVT) that powers the front wheels.

What a concept--a concept car, unlike so many these days, that is not a thinly veiled production car but a showcase for future design studies.

At least, that's what Nissan Design America vice president Alfonso Albaisa told AutoWeek during an unprecedented sneak peek last August at the Ellure concept, which makes its official debut at the Los Angeles auto show. He called it "a serious car but not a production car."

Albaisa calls the slippery shape the "aesthetics of efficiency," enhanced by 20-inch wheels with acrylic spokes that add the impression of depth while letting air stream past.

Albaisa calls it a tech-driven, eco nightlife experience. The Ellure might be a concept, but, Albaisa warns, "it's not blue sky." Expect future Nissan sedans to incorporate many of these features.

Nissan LEAF polar bear commercial

The New all electric Nissan Leaf debuted a new commercial.
The Nissan LEAF polar bear commercial has received a considerable amount of press.
The LEAF is the first zero-emissions all-electric car available at an affordable price point. The cuddly bear is seen traversing cities, and ends the commercial by hugging someone who owns a leaf.
Rush Limbaugh says “The polar bear with tears in its eyes gives the frightened owner of the Nissan a hug. For supposedly doing something to save the polar bear. What do you think about the Nissan LEAF polar bear commercial?

While Nissan's 2011 Leaf electric car hardly is as cute as the cuddly polar bear in the new TV ad, above, for the battery car, Leaf does have some engaging and appealing attributes. Leaf's not unique. Chevy says you can pre-heat or -cool Volt's interior, too, for example. What you'd pay for fuel depends on what you pay for electricity to recharge an electric's battery pack. Only time Leaf would lose the comparison, Nissan says, is if gas were to drop to $1.10 a gallon or less. Nationwide average Wednesday was $2.717 per gallon for regular, 14.5 cents more than a year ago, according to AAA's fuelguagereport.com, which tracks daily average fuel prices.

Keep in mind that power plants use some kind of fuel to generate the electricity, so your electric car is, in effect, fueled by whatever the utility companies are burning. In some areas, nearly all the juice comes from coal-fired plants, meaning what you thought was a zero-emission car could be a sulfur-emissions-causing, coal-powered buggy.

First Leaf EVs (Leafs? Leaves?) Those places have aggressive public-charging programs. Nationwide by this time next year, Nissan says.

Nissan is stumping the countryside providing potential buyers with Leaf test drives, so some dealers probably won't even have demonstrators.
Last week, Nissan debuted the commercial titled “Polar Bear” which showcases the car manufacturer’s affordable zero-emission 100-percent electric vehicle, LEAF.

Nissan has Announced Pricing for its City Crossover, the 2011 Nissan Juke

Now, Nissan has announced pricing for its city crossover, the 2011 Nissan Juke.

The price on the 2011 Juke is $18,960 before destination charges.

The Juke has an interesting place in Nissan's lineup. The Juke will be available in eight models, ranging from the base Juke S with front-wheel drive to the top-of-the-line Juke SL with all-wheel drive. The Juke SL with all-wheel drive will start at $24,550. The 2011 Nissa Juke hits U.S. dealerships in October.

S: front wheel drive with a CVT, $18,960, all wheel drive is $20,460"

SV: front wheel drive with a manual transmission, $20,260; with a CVT it is $20,760; and with all wheel drive it is $22,260. SL: front wheel drive with manual transmission, $22,550, CVT $23,050, all wheel drive, $24,550.

2010 Nissan Altima Reviews

The 2010 Nissan Altima ranks 11 out of 21 Affordable Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 81 published reviews and test drives of the Nissan Altima, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2010 Nissan Altima is one of just a handful of family sedans that reviewers consistently call fun-to-drive. "Nissan estimates that 65 percent of Altima buyers are male (as opposed to roughly the same proportion of female buyers for the Toyota Camry), and its bolder styling and more subdued interior reflects an adherence to its somewhat masculine personality." Reviewers love the 2010 Nissan Altima's crisp handling.

Sedan buyers should note that the four-door Altima is no longer offered with a manual transmission. The Altima is also available as a sporty-looking coupe. In the affordable midsize car class, only the Honda Accord and the Altima offer two-door options.
The 2010 Nissan Altima sedan is available as a stripped-down base 2.5 model, a well-equipped 2.5S, or a V6-powered 3.5SR. That price could send some buyers into the upscale midsize car class instead.

Middle America has recognized and rewarded Nissan’s Altima for its conservative, yet nice looking design, excellent engineering, good engine, quality manufacturing and fair value pricing – how many not so good but expensive wines have you tasted? Nissan has refreshed the Altima where it needed fixing and improved qualities and characteristics that needed improving including new exterior styling, nicer interiors, better infotainment system options and new technological innovations.

I like the change Nissan made in the Altima’s styling. The smooth Xtonic CVT transmission in this vehicle is innovative technology that seamlessly controls the vehicle's gearing resulting in smooth, consistent acceleration at any speed.

The Altima also comes with all the safety features you have come to expect including AABS, side curtain supplemental air bags, ABS, traction control and vehicle dynamic control.

Despite all its features and the impressive engine, Nissan did not forget the fuel economy and the Altima is NITSA rated 20 MPG city and 27 MPG highway.

The 2010 Nissan Altima continues the tradition, offering great value for your money. The 2010 Altima is offered in sedan, coupe, and hybrid models, and should be offered for sale to the general public this fall. The 2010 Nissan Altima gas-powered vehicles are available in 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder models. Both cars come with a traction control system, four-wheel antilock brakes, and high performance suspension. The suspension on the 3.5 SE sedans and coupes performs a little stiffly when driving on rough surfaces, although the 2.5 model rides well. With today’s gas prices, gas mileage can make or break a decision to buy the car. The manual transmission 3.5 SE achieved between 23 and 25 mpg. The high mpg Altima is a hybrid model that achieves 29 miles per gallon in primarily city conditions. The "2010 Nissan Altima" is packed with more than 50 safety features, all coming standard. The Altima comes with dual stage supplemental air bags in the front. Inside the 2010 Nissan Altima, sedans keep the road noise to a controlled level, while the coupes are a little louder. The controls to the stereo and climate system are easy to use on models that don’t contain the navigation system. The 2010 Nissan Altima offers a lot of features, including a Bose audio system and steering wheel-mounted controls.

Nissan Recall

Nissan cars involved in a 2.14 million vehicle recall are spread throughout the US, Japan, Europe and Asia, and include the popular March and Micra models. The Nissan cars are being recalled over an ignition problem that may stall the engine.

Nissan Recall October 2010 Affects 2.14 Million Cars – There has been a lot of recalls happening lately in the automaker industry. After the recent October 2010 recall of Toyota affecting 1.66 million cars due to brake fluid leakage, Nissan was the latest automaker to issue a recall. The Nissan recall affects 2.14 million cars built in Japan, the United States, Canada, Britain, Spain, China and Taiwan between August 2003 and July 2006. The affected models’ list are Nissan March, Cube, Note, and Mycra including other Nissan luxury models such as Tilda sedan, Titan pickup, Infiniti QX56.

2011 Nissan Versa Reviews

The 2011 Nissan Versa 1.8 S and the 1.8 SL models are available in sedan and hatchback forms. ABS is standard on the 1.8 S. Traction control and Nissan’s Vehicle Dynamic Control are standard on 1.8 SL models, and optional on 1.8 S models. However, they remain unavailable in both 1.6 models.
Available as either a sedan or hatchback, the Nissan Versa boasts a great deal of cargo space – 13.8 cubic feet for the sedan and 16.9 cubic feet for the hatchback.

Leather upholstery is unavailable on all Versa models.
With its history of impressive car safety features, sharp interior features and decent engine specs, the Versa is a contender in the subcompact and economy car market. The MSRP on the "2011 Nissan Versa" ranges from $9,900 to $17,650.

Changes are light for the 2011 Nissan Versa: antilock brakes are now included with the upgraded 1.6 sedan trim, while the 1.8 S sedan gains a six-disc CD changer.

Cars at a certain bargain-basement price point used to be called penalty boxes. Like many subcompact cars, the Nissan Versa is available in four-door sedan and hatchback body styles and its most basic models offer little in the way of convenience features.
The "2011 Nissan Versa" is a subcompact car available in sedan and hatchback styles. The 1.8 SL adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, front and rear center armrests, 60/40 split rear seatbacks (sedan) and a six-speaker stereo. The sedan's Convenience package adds keyless ignition/entry, Bluetooth and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The 2011 Nissan Versa is available with a choice of two four-cylinder engines. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, while a four-speed automatic is optional. EPA-estimated fuel economy with the manual is 26 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the 1.8 S trim. The four-speed automatic is optional on the 1.8 S trim and standard on the 1.8 SL sedan, while the 1.8 SL hatchback gets a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Every "Nissan Versa" comes standard with front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Antilock brakes are optional on the base car and standard on all other trim levels. In government crash tests, the Versa scored four out of five stars for all occupants in both front- and side-impact tests.

The 2011 Nissan Versa has a remarkably roomy cabin. Looks-wise, the car's interior is quite bland, but overall interior quality is high. The car's overstuffed front seats are comfortable during hour-long commutes, but support fades on longer drives.

The 2011 Nissan Versa ranks 26 out of 32 Affordable Small Cars. Just know that going from the base model to the next model up brings the Versa's price to just over $11,000. Also, if you're looking for a handy hatchback to zip around town in, the Versa's hatchback body style isn't available on the base model. While the Versa hatchback is a reviewer favorite, it starts at over $13,000.

While that means that the base hatch comes with more standard features than the base sedan, it also takes a significant chunk out of the Versa's value equation.

The Nissan Versa is largely unchanged for 2011. Antilock brakes are now standard on the Versa 1.6 sedan, but not the 1.6 BASE sedan. The Versa comes as a sedan or hatchback.

2011 Nissan Murano Reviews

The 2011 Nissan Murano will incorporate the same redesign approach that was introduced upon the arrival of the 2009 model. There are also choices for an all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive system. This vehicle is equipped with a CVT or continuously variable transmission, thus allowing you to increase power delivery for precise matching of engine speed. There are more engine features incorporated to deliver smoother ride such as antiskid and traction systems, four-wheel disc brakes, and an antilock braking system.

The 2011 Nissan Murano ranks 7 out of 24 Affordable Midsize SUVs. The 2011 Nissan Murano is an affordable midsize SUV that is actually fun to drive. With good power, fuel economy and nimble handling, reviewers have no trouble recommending the Murano.

"Nissan Murano is a likable SUV that offers secure handling, a comfortable interior, versatile cargo utility, and a strong, refined powertrain,” says Consumer Guide. “Midsize SUV shoppers should add it to their test-drive list."

Just know that if you want a basic, fun family hauler, the base "Nissan Murano" is a good value.

For 2011, the "2011 Nissan Murano" gets some styling changes and a new SV trim. The Nissan Murano is available in the base S, SV, SL and top-of-the-line LE.

Buyers can now choose between a total of eight variants on the Murano theme, including the new SV FWD and SV AWD trims. The Japanese automaker has thrown in 20-inch wheels, a dual-panel moonroof and a bevy of exterior color choices as optional goodies, too. Look for the 2011 Nissan Murano to land on dealer lots by October

Touring models, which adds features like Bluetooth phone connectivity, a Bose audio system, and allow buyers to opt for features like navigation, start at $36,030 with the six-speed manual transmission. Predictably, adding the seven-speed automatic to a Touring model adds $1300, bringing the base price to $37,330.

Nissan Navara Reviews

Nissan Navara Reviews

Nissan’s big Navara pickup has been one of those niche products with staying power.

People liked the Spanish-built Nissan Navara chunky looks and separate chassis, with a switchable two/four-wheel-drive system which gave it genuine skills off tarmac, and Nissan sold far more “Navara pick ups” than they did Pathfinder 4×4s, which were essentially the same vehicles, but with big, station wagon bodies and independent coil spring rear suspensions, rather than the pick up’s rear axle’s hefty leaf springs.

The Nissan Navara claimed combined 33.2mpg is a notable improvement on the old model’s 28.8mpg.

With stiff rear springs (intended not to sag if the load bay, with its clever range of fixing points, is filled with heavy gear), the "Nissan Navara" ride proved un-jittery when semi-loaded. For those who like even more power, Nissan is also offering a 3.0 litre V6 diesel in the Nissan Navara for the first time.

No nonsense 2x4 and 4x4 strength with modern comfortable interiors are why the latest Nissan Navara vehicle is such a success. Built for the toughest conditions, the Nissan Navara gets the work done with minimal fuss.

Standout features for this year are things like: a 3-tonne towing capacity, a lusty class leading turbo-diesel engine, advanced safety features, a balanced ergonomic dash, smooth detailing, chrome trim, alloys, power outlets and keyless remote control entry.

You’ve got it covered with the Nissan Navara. At first glance, you see a crew cab pickup truck with loads of features. The "Nissan Navara" is a tough muscular truck with loads of style.

The Nissan Navara range features plenty of power and torque. The Nissan Navara range is a strong ute that is such a loyal and robust working companion. Nissan's latest generation 4.0 litre V6 petrol engine is available on all Dual Cab models, and it's a true beauty. The 2.5 litre turbo diesel offers Nissan's latest generation common-rail technology. The diesel graces the Dual Cab and King Cab models. Naturally, being diesel, this engine returns impressive fuel economy and reliability. Switching from 2 to 4 wheel drive has never been easier in the Nissan Navara. The Nissan Navara's interior has dual zone climate control, cruise control, and comfortable and well designed seats with the option of leather.

The front seats are powered and heated, while the rear has a 60/40 split bench seat, thick rich carpeting, and an in-dash CD auto-changer with steering wheel controls, tilt steering, air conditioning, electric sunroof and fold flat passenger seat.
Your safety isn't compromised in the Nissan Navara either, with front and rear crumple zones. You will quickly realize that the Nissan Navara isn't any ordinary mundane truck.

Nissan Navara is a double cab and this feature makes it advantageous over others. It is true that, all big cars do not offer better performance especially with heavy load vehicles.
Here are a few details what Navara is capable of.

Front end is revised with a new designed grille and bumper.
Nissan Navara is available in different trim options. Navara does not lack the common features like stability control, cruise control, surround sound system, rear view camera etc. Safety features include the stability control and fully loaded air bags including the side screen air bags.

The all new V6 diesel engine is built primarily to offer economy and class performance with reduction in CO2 emission. Power developed is 170 KW with 550 Nm torque. Maximum torque is available at a low 1700 rpm and is available all the way up to 2500 rpm. One adopted technique includes the Overcooling exhaust gas which reduces Nitrogen oxides emission. 2010 Nissan Navara is definitely superior to the previous model and impresses by offering comfort and luxury to passengers. "2010 Nissan Navara" will really be a good option if you adjust with the negative features it comes along.

Nissan Leaf 99 mpg, will be introduced in some U.S. markets in December

The Nissan Leaf electric car, which has been given an official EPA fuel economy rating of 99 mpg, will be introduced in some U.S. markets in December. All cars must be given an EPA fuel economy label rating in order to be sold in the United States.

The EPA created the “mpg-equivalent” rating because the Nissan Leaf uses electricity and not gasoline for fuel. The 99 mpg rating will make Leaf the most efficient mid-sized vehicle sold. Nissan has been heavily promoting the Leaf as having a full driving range on a complete charge of about 100 miles, but the label it provides says the Leaf gets just 73 miles on a full charge.

The EPA officially rates Nissan Leaf as producing no greenhouse gas emissions, and also gives it the best possible rating for other pollutants.

It however trails behind the electric "Nissan Leaf" for which the EPA rated an estimated 99 mpg. The EPA gave the Volt a rating of 93 MPGe in all-electric mode. This comes below 99 MPGe, the rating assigned for the Nissan Leaf earlier this week. The EPA has also rated the Volt’s range at 35 miles, when it was powered by a 400-pound lithium-ion battery pack.

Depending on conditions, GM would continue to describe the Volt’s battery range between 25 miles and 50 miles. The Chevy Volt, when running on gasoline alone, will have a traditional EPA fuel economy rating of 37 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.

In comparison the Chevrolet Volt’s rating tops out the 2011 Toyota Prius, Pirus has an EPA rating of 51 miles per gallon in city driving and 48 in highway driving.

Electric cars have created the rent-seeker's dream. By contrast, the Leaf could make the same trip using subsidized electricity for little or no fuel cost. Consumers have long wondered what kind of fuel-economy rating an electric car would get from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA has approved a rating of 99 miles per gallon for the 2011 Nissan Leaf in combined city and highway driving.

But we’ll have to wait awhile to find out how the Nissan Leaf main rival, the electric-gasoline powered Chevrolet Volt, will compare. The agency derived the Leaf’s fuel-economy figure using an equivalency formula it designed to give car shoppers a standard by which to judge overall fuel efficiency and environmental impact for a wide range of vehicles using a variety of fuels and power sources.

The fuel-mileage tag will be part of the car’s window sticker, called a Monroney label.

Nissan 370Z Reviews

Nissan did not deliver on its plans to unveil a hybrid 370Z in 2011, but the high performance sports car does deliver unparalleled features in the 40-year Z-series tradition.
Nissan is offering three models of the 370Z convertible roadster: the standard entry level model, the Touring car, and the 370Z Touring with Sport Package option. The 370Z Coupe series features three model options plus the NISMO 370Z. Falling far short of the fuel efficiency figures for Nissan’s drawing board hybrid model, the 2011 Nissan 370Z reports 18 mpg in traffic and 25 mpg on the highway, manual or automatic alike. These high-performance vehicles use high-test fuel as well.

The 2011 Nissan 370Z has the loud engine and quick, responsive handling that sports car enthusiasts love. With smooth, powerful acceleration and stable steering control, this Nissan is a snappy commuter vehicle as well as a high-performance ride. Braking is smooth and controlled.
The spoiler on the NISMO model sits high enough to obscure rear visibility, as well. Add-ons such as the Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System with touch-screen convenience, XM NavTraffic, and XM NavWeather add tech points to the 370Z control panel.
