2010 Mazda6 Reviews

With a few well-established vehicles dominating the midsize sedan segment, and numerous likable competitors trying to unseat them, it's tough for any particular vehicle to stand out. However, the handsome Mazda 6 has something most competitors don't: charisma.
For the new second-generation 6, Mazda has enlarged the car's dimensions while still retaining much of the original model's handling panache. Depending on your needs, either generation could make for a solid midsize sedan choice.

The four is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic, while the V6 is only available with a six-speed automatic.

The 6 is available in seven trim levels: i SV, i Sport, i Touring, i Touring Plus, i Grand Touring, s Touring Plus and s Grand Touring. Base models are respectably equipped, while higher trim levels come with such niceties as alloy wheels, xenon headlights, Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control and an audible blind-spot monitoring system. Visually, the current 6 is no wallflower, with a distinctive face and front fender flares that recall Mazda's RX-8 sports car. There are a few downsides to the new Mazda 6. The current, second-generation Mazda 6 debuted for the 2009 model year. Launched for the 2003 model year, the first-generation Mazda 6 was initially available only as a sedan, while a four-door hatchback and a wagon joined the lineup for 2004. The Mazda 6 i was powered by a reasonably gutsy 160-hp four-cylinder engine mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission. The s model upped the performance ante with its 3.0-liter V6 -- also available with either a manual transmission or an automatic -- though this engine lagged behind the bigger V6s in competing models.
With power accessories, cruise control and pleasant cloth upholstery, even base models were reasonably well equipped. In reviews, we praised the original "Mazda 6" for its edgy, handsome design and stylish if somewhat low-budget interior. Our enthusiast editors particularly enjoyed the Mazdaspeed 6, a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive variant of the Mazda 6 sedan that was only offered in 2006 and 2007. Boasting 278 hp, a mandatory six-speed manual transmission and sports-car-like handling, this steroidal sedan never caught on with American consumers-- In 2005, a six-speed automatic replaced the five-speed unit on V6 models. For 2006, four-cylinder cars received an upgraded five-speed automatic in place of the old four-speed, and all Mazda 6 models were treated to minor styling updates. Not much changed for this generation's final year, though Mazda discontinued the wagon body style.

The Mazda 6 replaced the forgettable 626. Early 626 models were celebrated for their European styling and emphasis on performance, but in later years, they slipped into midsize sedan oblivion as Mazda took the car mainstream.
The 2010 Mazda Mazda6 ranks 11 out of 21 Affordable Midsize Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 21 published reviews and test drives of the Mazda Mazda6, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

Shoppers looking for a sporty, sexy midsize sedan with an affordable price tag should consider the Mazda6 – but go easy on the options. The 2010 Mazda6 is one of the few cars that should be on it. Sure, no four-door midsize car can truly be sports-car-sexy, but the 2010 Mazda6 comes close. The "2010 Mazda6 isn’t perfec"t. Higher trim levels have some of the nicest materials in the segment – but can cost so much that, really, you might as well buy an entry-level luxury car instead. But in a field crowded with look-alike, drive-alike family sedans, the Mazda6 stands out for its sharp styling and sporty driving dynamics.

The Nissan Altima is another sporty alternative. In the current market, most midsize cars are available at some discount. Redesigned just last year, the 2010 Mazda6 is still a fairly new sight on American roads, and Mazda has changed almost nothing about the car for the new model year. Navigation isn't available on most Mazda6 trim levels.

The bottom line: The 2010 Mazda6 is a thoroughly average car in a boring segment, but a couple of tech features keep it from total mediocrity.

The 2010 Mazda6 is yet another entrant among a class that appeals to comfort, reliability, and economy, yet Mazda tries to differentiate itself by giving its cars a slightly more sporting character. We set out to see if Zoom Zoom is part of the Mazda6's DNA.

But we weren't off to an auspicious start, as our 2010 Mazda6 was in i Touring Plus trim, which means a four-cylinder engine under the hood and a five-speed automatic transmission. There are seven trim levels for the Mazda6, a slightly bewildering array, and each one comes with a specific transmission and engine. Want the six-speed manual?

The interior features a quality look, but so do the cabins of most competing midsize sedans. As for Zoom Zoom, the Mazda6's moderate 170 horsepower and 167 pound-feet of torque sounded more appropriate for mileage over speed. Definitely more Zoom, than Zoom Zoom, but pretty typical behavior for the class of car coupled with this type of engine.
Topping out at five gears, the automatic transmission is a little primitive, lacking a tall gear to maximize economy at freeway speeds.

Audi A1 Review

Audi A1 :A proper Audi in miniature. That's the idea of the Audi A1 which, its creator claims, is the first compact car in the premium sector. Is Audi seriously ignoring the Mini, the Alfa Mito, the socially mobile Citroën DS3? First off, a red one with silver roof hoops and a 122bhp, 1.4-litre, turbocharged engine. It looks neat, uncluttered, taut, confident, with a shorter front overhang than today's droopy norm. The look will age well.

The wheels are set more widely apart than the Polo's, the suspension is a little firmer, and the body sits a little lower on the wide wheels. The scope for personalising the decor is considerable, with various electronic enhancements including a hefty drive for music files whose album covers can be displayed, Apple CoverFlow fashion.

Audi A1 A five-door version arrives later. That it will be the only transmission offered in the future 180bhp, turbo-and-supercharged version is a shame. It seems there is no manual gearbox able both to fit the 1.4-litre engine and handle the "hot" version's hefty torque output.
It's an excellent small car and an excellent Audi A1, and I like it.

Audi will challenge BMW's Mini Cooper and the BMW 1-Series with a premium subcompact of its own.

The 2010 Audi A1's basic design will doubtless borrow heavily from parent VW's European-market Polo, but will likely not be a retrimmed version of that small hatchback. A current example is the VW Eos retractable hardtop convertible, which blends structural elements of the compact Rabbit/Jetta and midsize Passat, but has no Audi counterpart.

Have we reached Peak Supermini? MINI, MiTo, Polo, Panda, 500, Clio, Fiesta, DS3, Yaris… The facia combines Audi's exemplary switches and dials with the Polo's bullet-proof build quality. The penalty is a lack of storage space around the front-seat passengers, with tiny door pockets. There are three four-cylinder engines – two turbo petrol units (1.2, 85bhp and 1.4, 120bhp) and a 104bhp, 1.6 turbodiesel. The 1.2 and 1.6 engines have five-speed transmissions, while the 1.4 comes with a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed, twin-clutch auto (a £1,420 option).

Peugeot 3008 with HYbrid4 Technology

The Peugeot 3008, with HYbrid4 technology, is the first diesel “Full Hybrid” production car to be marketed in the world. It is also an original and virtuous association of diesel and electric power.

It must also provide new driving sensations, improved driveability and improved driving enjoyment.

high performance combined with high levels of driveability,
In terms of performance, the 3008 HYbrid4 can benefit from the combined power of the HDi diesel engine and electric motor during acceleration, for an immediate surge in power (“boost” function). The maximum combined power output can then reach 147 kW (200bhp) through the addition of 120 kW (163 bhp) from the 2.0 litre HDi FAP diesel engine and the temporary peak of the electric motor (27 kW, or 37 bhp). This allows optimal driving with a mix of low fuel consumption and dynamic driveability,
“ZEV” mode (Zero Emission Vehicle) provides access to an extensive all-electric mode. The driver can apply this mode to drive discreetly around town or demonstrate the silence of the vehicle in electric mode, etc,
Four-wheel drive mode (4WD) instructs both power trains to operate together as far as possible; the rear wheels are then driven by the electric motor and the front wheels by the HDi diesel engine. Offering peace of mind, safety and driveability, four-wheel drive accentuates the vehicle’s dynamic character. “Sport” mode favours quicker gear changes at higher engine speeds than normal mode. HYbrid4 technology is based on the combined use of the best technologies developed by Peugeot’s engineers: diesel engine, electric motor, second-generation STOP & START and an electronically-controlled sequential manual gearbox.

The “hybrid” power train basically combines a diesel engine and an electric motor. Initially, Peugeot has relied logically on the recognised expertise of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group in the field of diesel engines with HDi FAP technology. expertise in the field of electric vehicles. Hybrid technology uses two power trains which can operate alternately or simultaneously:
the HDi diesel engine operates in its most optimal operating window on longer, out-of-town journeys. A diesel engine still remains the most efficient and versatile choice to power any vehicle,
French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen SA will launch its first diesel-electric hybrid: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4, at the Guangzhou Auto Show starting December 21, 2010, Media reported Wednesday.
Peugeot says the 3008 Hybrid4 is capable of a total combined output of 150kW and a combined maximum torque of 500Nm: 300Nm at the front wheels and 200Nm at the rear.

Changeover from the HDi diesel engine to the electric motor occurs automatically, thanks to a STOP & START system which places the HDi diesel engine in standby and restarts it as and when conditions require (accelerator pedal usage, low battery charge level, etc),

Aston Martin DB5

Set the famous "Goldfinger" and "Thunberball''60s London for now. One of the two Aston Martin DB5 made for Hollywood special will be auctioned in the UK city on October 27 at Sotheby's. Its value was so high that the estimated revenue is approximately 5 million dollars . Moreover, it is truly exceptional specimen.

In the '60s hit mainly because the collective imagination of "a lot of accessories" that distinguishes it as a pull gallettoni-wheel can slide the car tire your opponent in style "Ben Hur", plate rolling, passenger ejector seat, machine guns located behind the front indicators, oil spread in the queue had not yet finally pulled located behind the rear bulkhead steel.

Originally owned by EON Productions for the film 007, Aston Martin DB5 in the question again later in the ownership of Aston Martin itself, until purchased for $ 12,000 (1969) by Mr. Jerry Lee, the American millionaire Philadelphia. Since then the car is always and rarely performed in public. But now that Lee intends to sell to donate the proceeds to charity through his foundation's namesake related to poverty alleviation. New 2011 Ford Fiesta

The new 2011 Ford Fiesta subcompact car is selling for more on average than the Ford Focus compact car as buyers choose to load the popular Fiesta with options. The Preston Automotive group is proud to sell the Ford Fiesta in Preston MD, Ford Fiesta in Pittsville MD, and Ford Fiesta in Denton MD.

The EPA rates the Fiesta with 40 MPG highway and 29 MPG city mileage. It's a premium small car,” says Jim Farley, Ford's global marketing chief. We're selling more Focuses as a result of the Fiesta.”

No doubt helped by the incredible buzz around the all-new Ford Fiesta, the small-car segments showed more sales growth in September than any other car category.
I'm again relying on data from Motor Intelligence here, and those folks give the following numbers on the car side for September: Car sales as a whole were up by 18 percent last month, with "mid-size" entries ahead by 17.9 percent, "luxury" products seeing a 10.2 percent rise and sales of "large" cars dropping 28.2 percent. The results for "small" cars: A relatively healthy 26 percent jump.
When you look at year-to-date numbers, however, which show small cars still off of last year's pace by 2.4 percent, you can get a feeling for how atypical September's sudden increase in small-car sales really was.
The ancient Hyundai Accent, one of the Fiesta's in-segment rivals, chalked up 4,885 sales of its own last month. Now working on a year-to-date sales rate about 25.9 percent below last year's, the Fit saw a whopping 45.9 percent sales improvement in September itself.

It also gets some parts that are actually available for purchase at Ford Racing Parts' website: a short-throw shifter and Ford Racing exhaust. The other Fiestas to take the stand at SEMA include an appearance-package car by Ford Vehicle Personalization, featuring a body kit, a white-and-black interior package, and graphics. Universal Technical Institute's Fiesta will be a bit racier, with an Air Lift digital suspension, roll cage, Status racing seats, Baer brakes, 18-inch wheels, and a custom DuPont paint job. Steeda's SEMA Fiesta follows a similar tack, with a short-throw shifter, cold-air intake, sport springs, retuned shocks, front strut-tower brace, anti-roll bars, and a custom paint job. FSWerks will show a Fiesta with a "cool flow" air intake, race exhaust, body kit, and custom wheels

Audi Q7 - Revised Engine Lineup for The Audi Q7

is introducing a revised engine lineup for the Audi Q7 SUV. The new range comprises two gasoline engines, both V6 units but with different power outputs, as well as a second-generation 4.2 V8 TDI diesel engine. The mighty V12 TDI diesel completes the range.

The new 3.0 TFSI gasoline engines embody Audi
The basic version develops 272 hp and has a maximum torque of 400 Nm over a broad engine-speed range from 2,250 to 4,750 rpm. The more powerful version, the 3.0 TFSI Supercharged, delivers 333 hp and a torque of 440 Nm between 2,900 and 5,300 rpm.

The eight-speed tiptronic lowers fuel consumption by about five percent. To cut fuel consumption still further, the torque converter lockup clutch eliminates slip even at low engine speeds.

Volkswagen Polo Review

The VW Polo is a very grown up supermini. Ride quality is excellent, with the softly suspended supermini smoothing out city centre bumps well. Steering is light and a little lacking in feel. Larger petrol units are better and diesels satisfyingly torquey, if a little rattly. Really, the extra pace of the Polo suits its long distance cruising ability well.

There is a huge range of engines, and later this year there will be a 150bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged GTI variant too, with plenty of Golf GTI styling cues. Generally, the other VW brands offer lower prices and a little more equipment.

As you would expect from Volkswagen, the new Volkswagen Polo has been making an impression and gathering awards all over the place; but the crowning glory came in November, when the "Volkswagen Polo" was awarded the 2010 European Car of the Year, title.

Origin With industry leading performance, practicality, fuel economy and standard safety features, the all-new 2010 Volkswagen Polo is by far the best European light-car on the market.

It was 1975 when Volkswagen introduced the original VW Polo which only came to Australia in 1996. Before the sporty and range-topping GTI arrives towards the end of this year, the new Polo is currently available in two separate equipement grades: the entry level Polo Trendline and the more equipped Polo Comfortline. Nope. Nope. Surprisingly no, even the base model Polo Trendline 3 Door 5 speed manual is relatively well equipped given it starts for under $17k.
The first Polo tested today was powered by the new 1.2-litre TSI engine with 77kW and 175Nm of torque. Swapping to a base model 1.4-litre petrol powered VW Polo with 14-inch steel wheels was a good way to test out the chasis.

The new VW Polo is bigger than its predecessor in all regards, it measures 4,064mm in length (148 mm longer), 1,682 mm wide (32 mm wider), and sits exactly 1.5 m tall (33 mm taller). Safety is top notch in the new Polo .

ally, it was 3,505mm long; 1,562mm wide and stood 1,334mm tall and by 1979 Volkswagen had produced over 500,000 of them, proving the small but well-built formula, works.

By comparison, today's Volkswagen Polo is 3,970mm long, 1,682mm wide and 1,462mm tall; so over the years it has grown a little. The Volkswagen Polo test car housed the 3-cylinder, 1.2 engine with the lower of two outputs: 60- or 70PS. The other petrol option is the 1.4, 4-cylinder unit that produces 85PS, while the diesel is a 1.6-litre common-rail engine, which is new to the VW Polo, with two power outputs of 75- or 90PS. The Volkswagen Polo has many fine qualities but generally, it was never built for speed or with sporty intentions so it might surprise some to learn that the larger petrol engine can be mated to an optional 7-speed DSG automatic transmission in place of the standard, 5-speed manual 'box.

The Volkswagen Polo’s small, 1.2 engine is good for poodling around town but is lacking any 'spirit' under other circumstances. The "VW Polo" test car had a top speed of 98mph following a 0-62mph time of 16.1seconds, which is fairly leisurely.

Nissan Micra Reviews

Nissan Micra Reviews
With more standard features than some luxury European cars and a starting price of just $12,990 ($13,990 drive away), the all-new 2011 Nissan Micra is by and large one of the best light cars on sale

Nissan is a car company run by people that actually love cars (believe it or not, that’s a rarity these days). The only major Japanese manufacturer that has managed to keep its soul amid the global financial crisis by building models that appeal to the heart of every car enthusiast, whilst also staying in touch with the everyday car buyer.

With the new Nissan Micra, Nissan is not taking ‘no’ for an answer. The model is all about delivering an affordable light car jam-packed with so many standard features that it’s bound to put the competition to shame.

Although more conformist than ever, the new Nissan Micra now appeals to a much wider range of potential buyers and it makes Nissan Australia’s ambitious target of 1,500 Micra sales per month a conceivable possibility.

The new model also covers the entire light-car segment. To celebrate the launch of newNissan Micra, Nissan brought Australia’s automotive press to a roof-top car park of Docklands tourist centre in Melbourne. Given the Micra isn’t exactly a GT-R or 370Z, the traditional Motorkhana style (or MicraKhana as Nissan called it) was adjusted to suit the car.

Test the car in its native environment: car parks, busy streets, tight spaces and inner-city driving.
First up, a "Nissan Micra" Ti 1.5-litre automatic. 15-inch alloy wheels; reversing sensors; auto folding door mirrors; intelligent key; push button engine start/stop.

With 76kW and 136Nm of torque, the range-topping 1.5-litre four-cylinder Micra accelerates with reasonable pace from a standstill and also on the road, making overtaking manoeuvres an easy task. All Micra’s have a turning radius of just 4.5m, so they can do tight turns pretty damn well. There are some rather cool features inside the new Nissan Micra too, simple but clever things.
Nissan says one of the ways it has improved the new Micra is by building a lighter car. If you also happen to care about the environment, you’ll be happy to know the new Nissan Micra is 98 percent recyclable.

Sitting behind the wheel the first thing I noticed was the lack of telescopic steering wheel adjustment (pulling steering wheel towards you), which is disappointing. The dashboard controls are pretty easy to manage and the seats are pretty good for the price.
The "Nissan Micra’s" internal computer has an anniversary reminder so you won’t forget birthdays or other special days. This resulted in lots of handbrake turns around tight corners with the car’s electric stability control having a panic attack.

The boot isn’t all that spacious but 60:40 split fold rear seats allow you to make good use of the Micra’s little space. As far as interior-practicality goes, the Nissan Micra still trails the Honda Jazz’s (but it’s also much cheaper).

It’s hard to review a car like the Micra without treating it like your own. In and around Melbourne CBD it’s easy to say the Nissan Micra is ideal, but so are pretty much all the cars in its class.

Take it for a test drive and you’ll notice pretty darn quickly that the new "Nissan Micra" is a generation ahead of its main rivals. Unlike the previous generation Japanese built Micra, the new one comes from Thailand. The new Micra measures 3780mm long, 1665mm wide and 1525mm high. It’s sold in over 160 countries, so if you’re an avid traveller of places relatively unseen, you’re more likely to find a Nissan Micra than a Big Mac (sold in 125 countries).

As it stands now, if you’re thinking about buying a new light car you’d be mad not to put the new Nissan Micra at the very top of your list.

The once mighty Nissan Micra is a vaporous ghost in Tyne and Wear these days, haunting Nissan’s Sunderland factory where workers once toiled over the froglike supermini.

The Nissan Micra best year was 2003 with British sales of 42,000, yet the annual projections for this fourth-generation car are for about 18,000. But then you need to add 20,000 Juke sales, 15,000 Notes and about 7,000 Pixo models, so Nissan shifts about 18,000 more cars into the segment than when the Micra ruled this Lilliputian car world.

If sales projections are pared, so, too, is the rest of the new Nissan Micra, in weight, design and specification. Two transmissions are available to drive the front wheels; a five-speed manual and a continuously variable unit. Nissan is quite open about the type of buyer who will be attracted to the Micra. With steering that only adjusts for reach, taller and shorter drivers will need the height adjustable driver’s seat that comes with the Acenta trim. While rivals use soft-touch materials in this sector, Nissan’s plastics are hard, if well fitted. Top speed is quoted at 106mph, with 0-62mph acceleration in 13.7sec.

The result is a fine riding car, with good bump absorption and body control through corners. The electronically assisted steering system is well-weighted and, thanks to a London taxi-rivalling turning circle, the Micra feels nippy and wieldy in traffic.
Nissan may be a little known car maker in India, but that’s about to change. The Nissan Micra is also pretty practical.

Like all Nissans, there is no traditional key on this car. It’s the first for a B-segment car.
The Micra is powered by a 1198ccc three-cylinder motor that makes 79bhp but unlike other three-cylinder motors sold in India, there is no balancer shaft used. Nissan says it has engineered the car with fewer parts to keep the weight down, and it sure seems to have helped. The car feels nice and sprightly and acceleration is impressive enough to satisfy most drivers. Straightline stability on the car is impressive as well. With a wheel at each corner and most of the weight contained between the wheels, the Nissan Micra drives more like a big car than a little one. Nissan has offered automatic climate control, a feature that’s not common among hatchbacks. Of course, all these features are reserved for the high-end model and in basic trim, you still get power steering and front power windows (manual at the rear). The front seats are very comfortable and Nissan has consciously made the nose of the car visible from the cabin; this is apparently a common complaint from first-time drivers who will make up a fair percent of Micra buyers.

Nissan needs to improve the seat squab before launching the car in India. It is clear that Nissan, known for its engineering and innovation skills, has the know-how to build very effective small cars. The new Micra may not look wildly exciting but behind its cheerful, cute lines lies solid engineering and innovation. How well Nissan tunes and adapts this car for Indian conditions remains to be seen but we are confident that the Nissan Micra will take to Indian roads like a duck to water.

What we don’t know is how Nissan will price the car. Some say that Nissan might even undercut the Swift to get market share. If Nissan prices the Nissan Micra right, it has a winner on its hands.

Pontiac GTO Review past

The Pontiac GTO may have been the first true muscle car, but that distinction has never been enough to assure it an uninterrupted production run. Already, the Pontiac GTO has used up two lives. Originally produced from 1964-'74, the "Pontiac GTO" was resurrected for the 2004 model year after a 30-year hiatus. The new GTO (née Holden Monaro) was a definite sleeper style-wise, but in keeping with its muscle car heritage, it brought some serious under-hood heat.
Most Recent Pontiac GTO

Bland exterior styling was another weak point.
The bigger engine took the GTO up to a cool 400 horsepower, but between the 2 2 coupe's high price and dull styling, Pontiac simply couldn't sell enough of them. As a result, the Pontiac GTO was discontinued after the 2006 model year.
Past Pontiac GTO models

Introduced in 1964, the original GTO went through six generations before dying off after the 1974 model year. Always a rear-wheel-drive car, it was sold as both a two-door hardtop and a convertible with an assortment of big V8s. Legend has it that Pontiac stole the Pontiac GTO name from the equally legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, a car whose name was an acronym for "Gran Turismo Omologato."

The ostentatious GTO Judge model, sold in both body styles, is also less common.
A split dual-exhaust system adds an ominous rumble to the Pontiac GTO. A limited slip differential, three-channel traction control system, and four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes come standard, along with a sport-tuned suspension for tenacious handling abilities. The '06 Pontiac GTO is distinguished by revised taillamp styling, which now features a black background instead of red.

Pontiac's first Holden Monaro-based GTO isn't even out yet--and here we are, speculating on the next model. Building it for several markets makes the Pontiac GTO economically viable. It also creates conflict because Holden needs a car that appeals to its customers' tastes. While the Aussies tend to like big, rear-drive V-8-powered cars, like we do, Holden is in the midst of shifting its design philosophy to match GM Europe's.

New Porsche Cayenne

Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn said a new Porsche small SUV will be brought to market soon as part of plans to expand the sports car brand's lineup to boost sales.
The Porsche Cayenne shares a platform with the VW Touareg and Audi Q7.
Besides a small SUV based on the Audi Q5, Porsche could build a new small sports car.
Commenting that the new model would be used to increase Porsche’s sales numbers, Winterkorn used the name Cajun to describe the baby Cayenne.
VW’s goal for the Porsche brand is to almost double overall sales, pushing total annual output to roughly 150,000 units using volume sales models.
According to Volkswagen Group CEO, Martin Winterkorn, Porsche is working on a baby Porsche Cayenne to extend Porsche’s off-road lineup. Porsche, who owns 50.74 percent share of Volkswagen is yet to confirm or provide definite details.

Reports from German publication, Der Spiegel, quoted Volkswagen boss, Winterkorn, as saying about the project, “A new SUV, a smaller brother to the Cayenne which might be named Cajun.”

Lexus CT 200h First Five - Door Compact Car

The new CT 200h is Lexus's first five-door compact car. It's also the fourth model in the current five-car Lexus range – the low-volume super-expensive LFA hypercar excepted – to be powered by full hybrid drive, and the first full hybrid car from any manufacturer in the premium compact segment. Like the Auris Hybrid, the lexus ct 200h owes much to the Prius as its entire powertrain – petrol engine, electric motor, transmission (shift lever knob excepted), battery and re-generative braking systems – has effectively been lifted straight from the Prius. The CT also makes use of the Prius chassis platform, although with a 100mm shorter wheelbase and a multitude of structural and design modifications Lexus justifiably describes the CT 200h's platform as new

What can't be disputed is the lexus ct 200h 0.28 figure Cd, which is about as low as it currently gets, and, along with the hybrid drive system its low-drag aerodynamics, contributes toward the CT's impressive eco credentials.

In electric-only (EV), Eco and Normal driving modes the upper part of the binnacle is gently backlit in Hybrid Blue. Returning to the driving experience, I mentioned at the top of the page that the CT 200h has a distinctly sporting character. On a bumpy road the chassis and body feel exceptionally rigid and well-controlled. The ride is firm but impressively compliant, while the speed-sensitive electric power steering is direct (just 2.7 turns lock-to-lock). Lexus has high hopes riding on the lexus ct 200h.

TOYOTA’S huge success with the Prius hybrid presents Lexus with a prime sales opportunity for the CT 200h.
Lexus statistics reveal 10 percent of people who move out of the Toyota Prius go to a C-segment premium car – a sector where the company has, until now, not had a product offer.
It is these buyers Lexus is targeting with the new CT 200h.
The most expensive Prius currently retails for £23,398.
Communication plans are already being planned; our contact said Lexus may introduce a competitive leasing deal to win attention for the car.
Strong predicted retained values from CAP help here: the firm’s given a preliminary 41 percent RV figure, just behind an Audi A3 on 42 percent.

Lexus dealers are similarly retail-focused.
Lexus just hopes you buy it. The CT 200h is made for Europeans, where small hatchbacks and eco-cred go a lot farther. Total system output is just 134 hp, counting 98 hp from the 1.8-liter gasoline-fueled four and the rest from a pair of electrically powered motor generators.
"I designed it to be fun to drive ."
If you are a Prius pilot looking for more excitement, you'll be happy if not thrilled. The CT 200h uses the same 2ZR-FXE 1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve VVT-i four as the Prius. The 201.6 volts from the battery pack are boosted to 500 volts for normal acceleration and 650 volts in sport mode.
Sport mode is one of four modes available. Sport mode changes the response of the vehicle's speed-sensitive electric power steering, traction control and power control unit for what Toyota describes as "excitement." To further that excitement, the CT's body is stiffened with extensive use of high-strength steel and lightened with an aluminum hood, bumper reinforcements and rear door. In place of passive strut-tower braces, the lexus ct 200h has performance dampers connecting the two MacPherson struts in front and the trailing-arm double wishbones in the rear. These stiff dampers reduce vibrations while also stiffening the body structure.
Lexus lists competitors as the Audi A3, the BMW 1-series and the Volvo C30.

Chevrolet Spark review

The Chevrolet Spark city car is a replacement for the old GM Daewoo and then Chevrolet Matiz which sold purely on price. The smallest engine comes with a choice of "Chevrolet Spark" + and LS levels of specification. The 1.2 unit also has three choices, LS, LS+ and LT.
The entry-level Spark is offered with a 1.0-litre engine developing coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. Models in Chevrolet Spark + trim, also available with the 1.0-litre engine, come with air conditioning, electric front windows and central locking, along with a USB compatible four-speaker stereo.

‘Full of life’ claims General Motors, when describing the Chevrolet Spark. The Spark is a politically correct automobile, its small size and fuel-efficient motor making perfect sense in our congested, polluted cities. Space utilisation is very good in this car, and the cabin room you get for its tiny road footprint is impressive. We’ve always appreciated the "Chevrolet Spark" ability to seat four comfortably but luggage space is at a premium and, other than a few soft bags, the boot
did not offer much by way of load space.

The light controls made for a fatigue-free drive, even during extended periods in traffic.
The Chevrolet Spark popularity has a lot to do with this easy-to-live-with nature. The only rattle we noticed was the rear parcel shelf, but that’s endemic to most small cars. A narrower centre console might have helped eliminate the knee-meets-dash syndrome, though.

For a small car, the Chevrolet Spark boasts very good ride quality, especially in its segment, although the soft set-up could bottom out on bad surfaces. To be honest, there’s not much to complain about the Spark. In many ways the Chevrolet Spark is the spiritual successor to the cute ‘n’ cuddly Herbie. City cars don’t always have verve or flair but the Chevrolet Spark does, and this is what elevates it from being a dreary runabout to a friendly ally in traffic. The best bit is at the fuel pumps — our Chevrolet Spark rarely dipped below 12kpl, even when driven eagerly, and 13.5kpl was par for the course.

Full of life is just what our long-term Chevrolet Spark was all right.
Automakers like General Motors. Though still feverishly working to make a late-2010 launch date on the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid, GM also plans a conventional new high-mpg Chevy that should cost less than half as much as the $40,000 Volt. Called Spark, it's a front-wheel-drive 4-door hatchback even smaller than Chevy's Aveo subcompact car. GM inherited the Matiz when it formed GMDAT back in 2002 from cherry-picked portions of the old Daewoo Motors. In the process, it's helped make Chevrolet a top-selling brand in countries that know nothing of American-market staples like the Malibu and Silverado.

2011 GMC Acadia Denali

Huge Truck, Disappointing Rear Legroom

The heavy duty truck wars are heating up, and until recently the Ford Super Duties have been the only place for luxury truck buyers to go. The Denali nameplate already exists in the GMC showroom on the half ton Sierra. The Denali HD is more of a trim package then a complete package. The front and rear bumpers are painted , while the upper and lower grilles are finished in signature Denali chrome. You can only get the Denali HD in three colors: black, silver and white. Overall, the Denali trim is a very nice looking package on an already good looking truck.
The interior of the Denali HD is similar to any other loaded up GMC Sierra. This seems out of place on a truck of this price. This truck would not fall into that category.

The RAM Heavy Duty is the only one of the three heavy duty trucks that does not use Urea injection in the exhaust system. Driving the Denali HD was an enjoyable experience. The steering was light, with decent on center feel for a truck of this size. With an as tested sticker price of $58,199, is the new Denali HD king of the luxury trucks? The Denali HD is a very understated type of luxury, while the new Super Duty King Ranch is a very in your face, larger-than-life luxury. Between the terrific powertrain and great looks, this new Denali HD really does turn heads.
GMC Acadia Denali Styling

Like Denali versions of the full-size Yukon SUV and the big Sierra pickup truck, this top-end GMC Acadia Denali is highlighted by distinctive Denali design elements. Front-door step-in height is a relatively low 18.9 inches; rear door, 19.8 inches. GMC Acadia Denali Power

All models, including the Acadia Denali, hold a 3.6-liter VVT (variable valve timing) V-6 engine with gasoline direct injection, generating 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, driving a six-speed automatic transmission. With front-wheel drive, the Acadia Denali earns an estimate from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of 17 mpg in city driving and 24 mpg on the highway. Special Denali design features include unique lower fascias (front and rear), body-colored lower cladding and rocker moldings, body-color rear fascia and fender flares, and dual chrome exhaust tips. Distinctive bodyside moldings have chrome accents and Denali badging. The Acadia Denali rides on two-tone, chrome-clad, six-spoke 20-inch wheels, versus 18- or 19-inch tires for other Acadias. GMC Acadia Denali Interior

Perforated leather upholstery features matching leather door-panel trim. Heated/cooled driver and front passenger seats are standard. The Acadia Denali's Dual SkyScape sunroof includes a sliding front panel and a fixed rear section.

All these customizations are done specific to the requirement of the car. The body kit of a car may have a look front bumper or a slant nose, a badge emblem or a GT3 bumper that suits the cars requirement.

The Goddess Citroen DS

Designed by Bertoni and launched in 1955, the Citroen DS (or "Goddess") sold nearly 1.5 million units during its 20 years of production. A design classic the DS was packed with innovations and safety features that took decades to appear on other cars - indeed some have never been rivaled to this day!
The DS advanced all achievable standards in terms of ride quality, road-holding, handling, and braking. With the exception of air bags and side impact bars, there have been few improvements in vehicle safety design since.
After 18 years of development in secret, the DS 19 was introduced on October 5, 1955 at the Paris Motor Show. The car's appearance and innovative engineering captured the imagination of the public and 743 orders were taken in the first 15 minutes of the show, First day orders totaled 12,000!
Throughout its model lifetime, the DS remained ahead of its time. It's most remarkable innovation being the oleo-pneumatic (oil-air) pressure circuit that operated the steering, semi-automatic gearbox, brakes and suspension, which - pumped up by two powerful "accumulators" - provided automatic ride-height adjustment while giving the car a floating, luxurious ride.
The suspension was also driver-adjustable so that, in the event of a flat tire, the driver could raise the car to its highest setting, prop the corner, lower the car and remove the wheel, all without a jack. Other innovations included road-following head lamps, fiberglass roof and boot panel, removable body panels and a charming single-spoke steering wheel which allowed clear view of the instruments and collapsed with impact in an accident. It was also the first production car to sport front disc brakes.
The DS was voted fifth on Automobile Magazine "100 Coolest Cars" listing in 2005 and third in the 1999 Car of the Century competition, recognizing the world's most influential auto designs. If you want to know which cars took second and first place then keep your eyes on KOCMO's Classic Cars
President Charles de Gaulle praised the unusual abilities of his unarmored DS with saving his life during the assassination attempt at Petit-Clamart on August 22, 1962 - the shots had blown two of the tires, but due to the self-leveling suspension the car was still able to escape at full speed.

Exotic Classic Sports Cars the Lamborghini Diablo

The name is pure magic. Few cars are sexier than a Lamborghini. Even the Batman drove one, the Murcielago LP640 Coupe, in the Dark Knight. The purr of the engine was unmistakable, as it tore through the streets of Gotham City. Of course, it was a convertible and, of course, Bruce Wayne had two beautiful women with him. With an exotic sports car like this, would we expect anything less?
It is somewhat amusing to consider that Lamborghini was a little tractor company that grew to become a leader in world class super cars. In its day, Lamborghini's tractor business was producing 1000 tractors a year. Their distinctive black and white Trattori could be found all over Italy. Ferruccio Lamborghini did not like the post WWll cars that car maker Ferrari was building. He thought they lacked the creature comforts and appointments that befitted a Grand Touring automobile. After he was snubbed when he visited the Ferrari factory, he decided to build his own cars. As they say, the rest is history.
Lamborghini had a tradition of naming the cars after famous fighting bulls. The Murcielago, according to Lamborghini, "refers to a 19th-century Spanish bull that earned fame through its courageous nature in a bullfight" (Lamborghini). The Diablo, the Devil, which was Ferruccio replacement for the early Countach, was also named for a famous bull. According to THE MOST CHARISMATIC CARS from 80' to present, this bull in particular was raised by the 19th century Duke of Veragua and was made famous for "fighting an epic battle with 'El Chicorro' in Madrid on July 11. 1869".
Regardless, the Lamborghini makes a strong impression. The look is as unmistakable as the sound of the engine. Hollywood is drawn to the design, often featuring the Lamborghini, knowing that doing so will draw attention. There are other exotic sports cars, but few have the appeal of the Lamborghini.
The exclusivity of the Lamborghini is part of the appeal. Oftentimes, production of certain models was so limited that only a few of each model were made. For instance, only 138 Diablo SE30 were made in 1994 as a celebration of Ferrucci's business. Lest one should think that 138 is quite few, try again. Only one Roadster Prototipo was made in 1992. The point is that these are not production line cars, cranked out by the thousands. Exclusivity is inherent in the production.
Then too is the raw power of the Lamborghini. With a maximum top speed of 315 miles per hour, they were designed as racing cars and even the police in Italy drive them, as speed limits in Europe are still largely unregulated on the freeways, not that speed limits in general seem to matter much in Italy.

Come March and customers would be able to lay their hands on this compact beauty. Ford Figo would be launched in both petrol and diesel engine options.
The car's 1.2L Rocam petrol engine, also known as Duratec, is capable of producing 70bhp of peak power at 6250rpm and a maximum torque of 104Nm at 4000rpm. While the 1.4L diesel engine, known as Duratorq, produces 68bhp of peak power at 4000rpm and 160Nm of peak torque at 2000rpm. Ford has been claiming that the all new Ford Figo has an array of advanced third generation safety features that include dual front airbags, ABS (Antilock Brake System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), belt tensioners and belt force limiters, seatbelt warning indicator, door-ajar warning and many more such features that are sure to make Figo a car to reckon with.
There would be three variants of Ford Figo available in the market - base, mid and high end (called platinum) in seven colours namely diamond white, panther black, moon dust silver, chille, sea grey, squeeze and colored red. Speculations are on about the price of the car which is expected to be between the Rs 3.5 - 4.5 lakh bracket. But above all are the promises for fuel efficiency and performance. It won't be too long before the people would get to try this new car and it is only then that these claims would be put to real test.
