BMW announced a recall Tuesday for potential fuel pump failures in some of its vehicles.
The BMW recall is over fuel pump concerns. “Symptoms include long-crank engine starting times along with the illumination of the ‘Service Engine Soon’ light.
Over 20,000 2008 X5 Sports Activity Vehicles using low-pressure fuel pumps have also been affected.
Just a few weeks after recalling nearly 300,000 BMW and Rolls-Royce models for problems with power breaks, the company has now issued a recall of over 150,000 cars for faulty fuel pumps.
This time around, 2007-2010 BMW models are being affected by the recall. Specifically, 130,000 cars of the following BMW models, all of which have twin-turbo engines, are being recalled for this issue:
• MY 2007–2010 335i models.
• MY 2008–2010 135i, 535i and X6 xDrive35i Sports Activity Coupes
• MY 2009 – 2010 Z4 Roadster sDrive35i
“Symptoms include long-crank engine starting times along with the illumination of the ‘Service Engine Soon’ light. Additionally, 20,800 MY 2008 X5 Sports Activity Vehicles, which have six-cylinder engines, are also being recalled for the same fuel pump issue. The company advises drivers to contact their local authorized BMW Center should they experience any problems on the road.
