Wald International has officially introduced their new body package for the Nissan GT-R. The Japanese tuner has not released any engine modifications, citing the "difficulty in tuning the GT-R's engine."

The company has created several carbon-fibre body parts to lighten the vehicle's weight and make the car more aerodynamic. They custom built a front-lip spoiler and nose cover, and rear wing. Low-drag duct covers from another lightweight composite material are in place, while under the hood the cutomer will find a carbon-fibre engine cover.

Wald's aero-kit comes in the glossy finish typically used for street cars, called wet carbon fibre, or a dull matte grey color, called dry carbon fibre. The second choice is usually used on racers. A wet carbon kit starts at 1,039,500 yen ($11,620), with the dry carbon kit going for about 2,362,500 ($26,410). Prices include taxes.

Nissan Qashqai Compact Crossover

Nissan has given its European market compact crossover, the Qashqai, a mid-life makeover for 2010 to prolong its appeal to consumers. Most of the cosmetic changes concern the front end as hood, bumper, fenders, grille and headlights have all been revised giving the Qashai a much more aggressive look.

The Nissan Qashqai is an auto that’s better gazed upon than mentioned. It has a difficult and queer-sounding name that’s pronounced as Cash Kai but it does not mean you need plenty of cash to get it. Guess what, this car was tested and is the recipient of the highest ever EuroNCAP crash rating making it a small but one of the safest cars in Europe if not the world.

Excellent safety features aside, the Nissan Qashqai is good-looking and can match the looks of the mini. It may be small but it looks bulky with a distinctive front thanks to the large front lights. It has 16-inch alloy wheels but you can opt for the 17-inch wheels at an additional cost of £700 but if you’re opting for the higher-end Tekna trim then the 17-inch wheels come as a standard feature.

New Nissan Nismo 370Z

Nissan's new 370Z may be quite nimble, but those hankering for a track-ready package should consider stepping up to the new 2010 Nismo 370Z, which debuts at the 2009 New York auto show.

Like the Nismo 350Z before it, the new automobile receives a host of suspension revisions designed to glue the Z to the track. Nismo (Nissan's in-house tuning firm) adds a face strut shape brace, performance dampers, increases the face spring rates by 15 percent, and stiffens the side coils by 10 percent. Coupled with thicker stabilizer bars, the tweaks increase the 370Z's damping bourgeois by 40 proportionality in face and a whopping 140 proportionality in the rear.

In order to provide power to match the track prowess, Nismo also fiddled with the Z's engine. The 3.7-liter V-6 is nearly identical to that in a connatural 370Z, but thanks to a Nismo exhaust grouping and a tricked-out engine control module, it sees a substantial boost in power. The Nismo-tuned mill produces 350 hp at 7400 rate (vs. 332 hp @ 7000 rpm) and 276 lb-ft of torque (up from 270) at 5200 rpm. Nismo 370Zs are only acquirable with a six-speed drill transmission, which is equipped with the trick rev-matching system.

Nismo also modifies the 370Z's exterior, adding a new elongated face fascia. Although it does decent up the Z's face appearance, the new snout also incorporates a lineament mollycoddler and match canards to improve downforce. New lateral sills are designed to match, and a giant side spoiler, inspired by racing-spec Zs, is again conception of the package. So too are Rays metal wheels - these 19-inch pieces are unique to the Nismo Z, although the large vented round brake are culled from the 370Z's Sport Package.

The Nismo help throws in a few interior touches, including red stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, Nismo logos on the tachometer and textile containerful seats, and aluminum-trimmed pedals. Don't look for an iPod cut or navigation - the Nismo 370Z makes do with the base four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo system, and options are otherwise limited to selecting one of fivesome makeup colors (red, white, silver, graphite, or black).

Nissan hasn't discussed pricing for the new Nismo model, but does wait cars to arrive at U.S. dealerships sometime in June 2009.

Tokyo, Japan — One of the many concept cars being readied for the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan is this iPod-inspired vehicle. With a design that's best described as odd and/or bulbous, it features accelerator and brake pedals embossed withaudio player symbols: fast-forward and stop. According to Nissan, the Pivo 2 is an advanced electric concept car that builds on the popularity of the first Pivo, which was shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. Power comes from environmentally friendly compact lithium-ion batteries. More of an entertaining way of transport than a traditional car, it even features a "highly innovative Robotic Agent". Drivers will never be lonely again, as the robotic companion can converse in both Japanese and English dialects, and was created to make journeys less stressful. The robotic agent is also instrumental in operating the cars functions, from heating and cooling to navigation. The entire front end of the car opens up via a large door to allow the driver and his two passengers access, and because it features a rotating cabin (the entire cabin can swivel 360 degrees) there is no need for a reverse gear. The vehicle is made even more nimble thanks to four wheels. Each of the four wheels are powered by advanced electric in-wheel '3D Motors', which can then swivel 90 degrees allowing the Pivo 2 to drive sideways as well as forward.

Nissan Car Sports

Even as Japanese carmaker Nissan is in the process of developing strong business fundamentals in the Indian market for the launch of its much-awaited compact car in the next few months, the company will be unveiling its sports car 370Z for the Indian customers next week.

“We plan to launch our iconic 370Z sports car on January 20 at Mumbai,” a company official said. However, he declined provide further details. This will be Nissan’s third model to be marketed in India. Nissan presently sells two cars in India –Teana and X-Trail, priced over Rs 20 lakh. The company was expected to end calendar 2009 with sales of 300 units with the two models.

The new launch is part of company’s business strategy to widen its product portfolio in the fast-growing Indian automobile market from the present two products to nine by 2012. The proposed nine models, including five locally produced products, will range from entry-level cars, sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs and to light commercial vehicles. With a slew of models, the Japanese carmaker is targeting a market share of 5.7 per cent in the Indian automobile industry by 2012.

Nissan is also in the processing of developing its business fundamentals in preparation for the successful launch of its new compact car in the next few months in India. Nissan had roped in Hover Automotive India as its partner for marketing, sales, after-sales service and dealer development for the Indian market.

It has established 10 dealership and its 11thdealer outlet is to be inaugurated on Monday at Chennai. Presently, Nissan has presence in eight states and is expected to open more outlets before May 2010 when the compact car of Nissan is expected to be rolled-out in the Indian market.

Nissan is set to unveil its new compact car in Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. The yet-to-be named compact car is being developed on Nissan’s global V-platform. The new car will be manufactured in five countries including Thailand, China and India. The upcoming Indian car plant at Oragadam near Chennai is expected to commence production of its new compact cars by May 2010.
