2010 Nissan Rogue Review

The 2010 Nissan Rogue , the Nissan Rogue is a decent value within its class. "If you can live with Rogue's sometimes harsh ride, this little Nissan might make sense."
The new model is priced only $120 more than the 2009 Rogue.

Cars.com doesn't warm up to the design, though, declaring it a “hackneyed design” and deems its styling “bland.”
Inside, the five-passenger Rogue gets a chunky interior design that borrows a bit from all of Nissan’s cars and crossovers. “The interior is one of the Rogue's highpoints,” Cars.com declares.
The 2010 Nissan Rogue is a five-passenger compact crossover SUV available in S, S Krom Edition or SL trim.

The Krom Edition starts with the S model's standard equipment and adds 17-inch dark alloy wheels, a different grille and front fascia, center-mounted exhaust, a rear spoiler, tinted windows and steering wheel audio controls. The SL's Leather package includes the expected leather upholstery plus heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated side mirrors, a six-way power driver seat, a one-touch up/down driver window and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. For more Style information,
The 2010 Nissan Rogue is available with either front- or all-wheel drive. In our testing, an AWD Rogue SL took 9.2 seconds to reach 60 mph, which is competitive with other four-cylinder compact crossovers.

The front-wheel-drive Rogue has an EPA estimate of 22 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 24 mpg in combined driving.

The Nissan Rogue comes standard with antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. Front and rear side-impact tests resulted in five-star ratings. The "2010 Nissan Rogue" boasts one of the nicest interiors of any compact crossover at its price point. Unlike the rear seats of competing crossovers, however, the Rogue's don't recline or slide fore and aft.

2010 Maserati GranTurismo

Two years ago, the Maserati GranTurismo replaced the GranSport model. The standard 2010 Maserati GranTurismo comes equipped with a 405-horsepower 4.2-liter V-8, while the sportier GranTurismo S gets a 4.7-liter engine with 433 horsepower on tap. The GranTurismo Convertible also gets the more powerful 4.7-liter V-8. Standard across the GranTurismo range is a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. The 0-60 mph run now takes just 5.1 seconds in the GranTurismo, while the GranTurismo S gets there in 4.5 seconds. Top speeds are 177 mph and 183 mph, respectively.

Maserati’s new GranTurismo Convertible is a beautiful addition to the family of powerful sporting cars designed for the true enthusiast. The guidance of former Formula 1 racer Ivan Capelli is helpful in getting us out of the dense Roman traffic and into the countryside, where we find a delightful winding road with elevation changes, switchbacks and challenging corners to test the Convertible.

Beneath the broad sloping hood lies the excellent Maserati GranTurismo 4.7-liter V-8 engine boasting 440 bhp and 361 lb.-ft. f torque. Out on the open winding road, the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible really struts its stuff--with excellent handling, sharp acceleration, super braking feel and a level of confidence that makes driving this car a joy. The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible (called the GranCabrio in the home market) goes on sale in the U.S. this spring, priced at $139,700.

2011 Hyundai Sonatas after reports of steering problems

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into an estimated 16,300 2011 Hyundai Sonatas after reports of steering problems.

NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigations said the complaints "allege either a separation of the intermediate steering shaft assembly upper universal joint resulting in a complete loss of steering capability and/or a cross-threaded pinch bolt that caused stripped-out threads and loosening, but not complete separation of the upper universal joint connection."
Hyundai recalled 5,893 2011 Sonata vehicles on February 24 to fix faulty door latches.
There may be a problem with the steering on some Hyundai Sonatas.

The federal government is investigating possible steering mechanism problems on 2011 models of the car. The investigation stems from two incidents.

In May the Hyundai Sonata was the "most-shopped vehicle" online, according to data from Compete, a Kantar Media company. Sonata was on more shopping lists (130,000) than any vehicle in the industry, topping perennial leaders like Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Ford Fusion according to Compete’s analysis of website traffic patterns.

The vehicle was touted as a "modern approach to the traditional mid-size sedan segment by using only advanced four-cylinder engines, emotional design and luxury features offered with Hyundai’s strong value proposition," according to Hyundai's website.
Since it arrived in Ann Arbor at the beginning of July, editors and friends of the magazine have collectively piled on nearly 8000 miles. In August alone, the Sonata covered 4000 miles, reaching destinations as far as the mountains of North Carolina, as well as the urban jungles of Saint Louis and Chicago.
And unlike our Four Seasons Suzuki Kizashi, we don't seem to be the only ones to appreciate the Sonata's penchant for time on the roads.
"Hyundai seems poised to climb the sales rankings in the megacompetitive mid-size segment."
A recent conversation with Hyundai North America CEO John Krafcik revealed that Hyundai's factories are struggling to keep up with demand. A quick trip to New England confirmed the Sonata's success outside our Midwest home office, according to senior web editor Phil Floraday.

New Mercedes-Benz CLS is Designated a 2012

Mercedes-Benz provided an advance look at the new "Mercedes-Benz CLS" in January at the Detroit auto show, where Gorden Wagener, head of design for Mercedes, displayed a raw metal model of the car, polished and gleaming like a prop from a “Terminator” film.

The" new Mercedes-Benz CLS is designated a 2012 model". “The new Mercedes-Benz CLS points the way forward for the future perceptible design idiom of Mercedes-Benz,” he said in a news release. Some of the new design elements have been enunciated on the SLS sports car.

The so called “dropping line,” running downward from the top of the front wheel arches to the rear, takes inspiration from historic Mercedes sports cars. The rear shoulder line is high and athletic. The oversize rear-wheel arches visually express rear-wheel drive.

The" original Mercedes-Benz CLS" launched in 2003, becoming the first mainstream four-door coupé and inventing a whole new niche that Audi and BMW are only just beginning to fill.
The front of the Mercedes-Benz CLS also features full LED headlights complete with adaptive dynamic lighting functions for better visibility at night.

This will give the car a very distinctive lighting signature, with three arrow-shaped layers comprising 71 LEDs in total. No doubt an extensive list of in-car entertainment and safety equipment will also feature.

Pricing and standard equipment information will come closer to launch, and we should see the new Mercedes-Benz CLS hit UK showrooms early next year.
Further details of this new four-door coupé should emerge at Paris. Which? Car will keep you informed.
