2011 Hyundai Solaris

2011 Hyundai Solaris Russian-built Accent is Ready for the Ice Cold: What was shown as the Concept RB at Moscow’s International Motor Show has become the Hyundai Solaris, a re-nosed Accent [Verna in South Korea] for our Cold War counterparts. Starting in January, the Solaris will be Hyundai’s first model to be assembled at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant.

According to Hyundai, “Solaris”, derived from the Latin Sol, “implies Hyundai Motor’s strong will to expand its business in the Russian Federation”.
The top of the range Solaris features six airbags, and Hyundai will also provide models with electronic stability control.

Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea’s largest automaker, unveiled a new sub-compact four-door sedan Solaris. THE NAME, SOLARIS

The word Solaris is derived from a Latin word for sun, Sol, and implies Hyundai Motor’s strong will to expand its business in the Russian Federation with its new car.

The Solaris continues Hyundai Motor’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design philosophy that injects sophistication and dynamic angles as well as elegant lines resembling a calligrapher’s “orchid strokes” into the shape of a vehicle. Hyundai Solaris is powered by the modern Gamma engine, 1.6L or 1.4L chain cam DOHC in-line four cylinder gasoline engines that feature multiport fuel injection with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). Average Fuel Economy
The top trim model will also feature standard six airbags.

Hyundai Motors revealed its 2011 Solaris, a sub-compact car, for the Russian market. The 2011 "Hyundai Solaris", is based on the Hyundai RB Concept that the company earlier revealed in Korea. The car incorporates a more powerful battery and enduro headlights, heating vents for rear seat passengers, a four-liter washer fluid tank and mudguards. Hyundai expects to sell around 85,000 Solaris each year on the Russian market.

Hyundai opened its first Russian factory in St. Petersburg, making it the Korean automaker’s sixth overseas car assembly plant.

Mitsubishi Lancer 2011 Model Year Update

As a part of the Mitsubishi Lancer 2011 model year update, the company has introduced a new trim level into the range called the Mitsubishi Lancer SX.

Safety-wise, all variants get a revised brake assist system and an improved power windows safety mechanism.

The biggest change to the Lancer line up though is the introduction of the Lancer SX model. The Mitsubishi Lancer SX gets the same 2.0-litre, 113kW engine as the ES and VR models, while the VR-X and Aspire models get the 2.4-litre, 125kW four cylinder. Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited president and CEO, Masahiko Takahashi, said about the introduction of the SX model,
Mitsubishi has added a new six-speed 1.8 litre common rail direct injection diesel engined version of their Lancer. The Lancer features the brand new all-aluminum DOHC 16v 4-cylinder Common rail direct injection “low impact” Euro 5 Diesel engine, develops 150 bhp @ 3,000 rpm.
The highlight of this technology is Mitsubishi’s proprietary MIVEC variable valve timing system, a world first for a passenger car Diesel engine.

Taut and sharp, the Lancer again presents the new sharp visual identity for the brand, dubbed the “Jet Fighter grille”. The Lancer has a good comprehensive safety packages, including nine airbags. Other passive safety features include 3-point ELR seatbelts in all seats. The Lancer also employs Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) uni-body that brings dramatic advances in multi-directional impact safety performance. The 1.8L diesel is priced at €22,995 with €156 annual road tax (Tax Band B) and fuel economy of 5.3L/100km (53MPG).

Range Rover Sport STARTECH Comes with an Aggressive

In line of that, they’ve now released a styling program for the 2010 Range Rover Sport
Looking evil in black, the tuned "Range Rover Sport" comes with an aggressive front fascia, LED daytime running lights, 22 inch light-alloy wheels and a revised rear apron with integrated exhaust pipes and a removable section that provides easy access to the trailer hitch.

The interior then gets a sport steering wheel, stainless-steel scuff plates with Startech logos, aluminum pedals and special floor mats.

Startech has the coolest body kit for the Range Rover Sport. The interior package includes stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated STARTECH logo, high-quality floor mats with color-coordinated leather borders, and aluminum pedals. To complement the factory leather interior of the Range Rover STARTECH offers front and rear inside door panels in all factory leather colors.

“The STARTECH designers have developed sporty yet elegant aerodynamic-enhancement components for both body styles of the SUV. Both front components lend the 4x4 a more striking and dynamic face and reduce lift on the front axle at high speed,” stated the press release.

The rims are wrapped in 295/35 high-performance tires.

Customers also get front and rear door panels finished in leather.

“Requests for even further personalization are fulfilled by the company upholstery shop. Also available are exclusive precious-wood trim sets. Innovative bleaching and staining techniques allow customers to choose perfectly matched or interestingly contrasted wood colors with various surface finishes,” stated the press release.

Camaro Convertible The Feel of Driving the Coupe

Rear parking assist is standard on all convertible models, which is a good thing because rearward visibility is usually quite limited in a convertible.

“The launch of the new convertible opens Camaro design and performance to a new set of potential customers,” said Chris Perry, Chevrolet's marketing vice president. Of course, no one ever expected Chevy not to produce a convertible version of the Camaro. It competes directly with the Ford Mustang, which also has coupe and convertible versions. The other big competitor is the Nissan 370Z, which also comes in coupe and convertible models.

In taking the top off the Camaro coupe, GM engineers had to strengthen the car's body, so the convertible model has an “enhanced body structure” designed to keep it rigid even when hitting bumps in the road.
The reinforced structure gives the Camaro convertible the feel of driving the coupe, GM says. We didn't change a strut, bushing or spring rate from the Camaro coupe.”
The result, GM insists, “is a convertible that preserves nearly all the acceleration, road-holding and performance capabilities of the Camaro coupe.”
Engine choices are the same as those in the coupe models.
Base models will have a 3.6-liter, direct-injection V-6 with 312 horsepower and 278 foot-pounds of torque. With the manual, the V-6 model is EPA rated at 17 mpg city/29 highway; with the automatic, it's 18 city/29 highway.

The SS (Super Sport) models come with V-8 engines. The automatic SS models come with automatic cylinder deactivation, which cuts out four of the cylinders during level highway cruising to help boost fuel economy.

Rear-wheel drive is standard, of course, on all Camaro models.
“Other convertible models in this segment still offer convertible tops with dual latches, forcing drivers into two-hand operations reaching across the car.”
There is a folding, one-piece hard tonneau cover on the uplevel V-6 2LT and V-8 2SS models, which completely covers the lowered top and dresses up the car's appearance. Coupe models come with four-wheel independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes (with four-piston Brembo calipers on the SS models), GM's electronic stability control, OnStar and XM satellite radio.
Other safety equipment includes front seat-mounted side air bags and side-curtain air bags for both rows.
Chevrolet has unveiled a drop-top version of its best-selling Camaro coupe at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The European version of the Camaro Convertible will get a 6.2-litre V8 engine producing a stonking 426 horsepower. What’s more, the power-folding fabric top should retract in an uber-fast time of just 20 seconds. Speaking at the car’s unveiling ceremony, Chris Perry, Vice President of Chevrolet marketing, said: "The launch of the new convertible opens Camaro design and performance to a new set of potential customers.

See pictures of the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible in the gallery below.

The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible was among the most exciting cars to be unveiled at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. The 21st century revival of Camaro is tremendously popular, so it's only natural to expand and elevate the product range in new directions."

2011 Renault Fluence Announced Launch

Renault Australia has this week announced the local launch of the 2011 Renault Fluence, starting at $22,990 and set to go on sale in Australia from November.

The 2.0 litre engine is paired with either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission.

In Australia, Renault will offer the Renault Fluence sedan alongside the Megane hatch, with both models starting at the same price. Along with the Koleos SUV, the Fluence and Hatch will stand as Renault's volume-selling consumer offerings.

“Renault is announcing significant investment in Renault Australia that will deliver the Renault brand long term status as a key player in the Australian automotive market. Like the upcoming Renault Megane, the Fluence's features list includes the Renault smart key card (for keyless unlocking and engine starting), integrated satellite navigation (standard on Privilege), Bluetooth connectivity, multimedia connectivity and dual zone climate control air conditioning - an uncommon advantage in the small car segment.
Key new models from France, South Korea and Turkey unveiled at the Sydney motor show are all on the menu for introduction here in early 2011 by Motorcorp Distributors.

The show stand newbies presently on display across the Tasman cover virtually the full gambit of Renault's passenger range.
The Megane family spans a new Golf-fighting hatch, a glass-topped Coupe-Cabriolet and a larger sedan spin-off, the 2011 Renault Fluence, plus two versions of a new performance model, 250 coupe.

Though Motorcorp recently appointed a new brand manager for Renault, the brand has definitely lost pace in New Zealand.

It seemed the distributor has been upset about Renault's apparent indifference toward the difficulties it has faced placing the right cars in the market at the right price.

The tension seemed to have eased on Friday when, at the invitation of Motorcorp boss Russell Reynolds, I met with Sylvain Martin-Villa, Renault's Melbourne-based operations manager for this region. Mr Reynolds says he is confident that a Renault relaunch can be affected, with sharper-priced and more relevant cars.
We have always wanted to keep Renault. Asserts Mr Martin-Villa: "For now, you are a different country."

Renault could recover lost ground, he believed. Renault's strength continues to be that it offered a very broad range of cars, from the mainstream (Koleos, Fluence and Megane) in petrol and diesel through to the extrovert performance RS-badged Clio and Megane coupe cars. "Overall, Renault has got the product range that suits the direction to market is going. Motorcorp is still evaluating the Latitude, which in Europe Latitude replaces the slightly smaller outgoing Laguna.

The car boasts a host of features including sunroof, leather upholstery, electric seats with memory and massage functions, a satnav system with rear view camera, keyless entry, air purifier with freshener, multimedia connection box, Bose sound system, automatic parking brake, rear sunblind and auto headlamps and wipers.

The exciting new sports models are the Megane Renault Sport 250 Cup and Cup Trophee, ultimate derivatives of the RS225.

Renault also made a show of its full-blown racing heritage at Sydney, showing a stunning race-ready V6-powered version of the car.

2010 Mazda5 reviews

The “Mazda 5” could be an alternative to another type of vehicle: the compact crossover. There are, of course, drawbacks to the Mazda 5's smaller size. Notably, the small third-row seat is suitable only for children, and that's only if you scoot up the sliding second-row captain's chairs. The Mazda 5 also seats a maximum of six, one less than regular minivans. The Kia Rondo is close to the Mazda 5 in design and concept, though it has traditional rear doors.

The “2010 Mazda 5” is a six-passenger small minivan available in Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trims. Standard equipment includes 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, full power accessories, keyless entry, automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, driver seat height adjustment, and a six-speaker stereo with auxiliary audio jack and steering-wheel controls. The Grand Touring adds automatic xenon headlights, automatic wipers, leather upholstery, heated front seats and Bluetooth.

In performance testing, a Mazda 5 Grand Touring went from zero to 60 mph in 10 seconds, which is a bit slower than most minivans and compact crossovers. Fuel economy for the automatic-equipped 5 is 21 mpg city/27 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined.

Standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags and three-row side curtain airbags. With the third-row seat folded flat, 44.4 cubic feet of luggage space are available.

The 2010 Mazda Mazda5 ranks 5 out of 7 Minivans. This ranking is based on our analysis of 53 published reviews and test drives of the Mazda Mazda5, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

With three rows of seating, sporty handling and excellent safety scores, the Mazda5 is definitely worth a look.

The Mazda5 is the mini-est minivan. The Mazda5's small size means that it handles well, but is short on passenger space. If you need more passenger and cargo room, and want an all-around more comfortable interior, check out the Honda Odyssey. It's a large wagon with three rows of seats, so it doesn't have the Mazda5's sliding doors.

Our 2010 Mazda5 Touring arrived sporting a price tag of $22,480 and a hue we’ll henceforth refer to as press car red. The Mazda5 is based on the widely praised compact Mazda3 chassis, a solid contender for hot hatch value.

Leather, satnav and DVD entertainment are available in Limited trim. With segments busting left and right, the Mazda5 creates its own niche somewhere between compact wagon and minivan. It’s got three rows of seats, but only seats six. The middle row folds flat as well, leaving room for bikes or surfboards up the side.
Knowing the 5 is based on the Mazda3 chassis, we came in with high expectations. Regarding the chassis: satisfaction accomplished. Excluding sportwagons, the Mazda5 is the best handling people mover we’ve ever piloted. Essentially, it drives like a well-sorted budget hot-hatch, begging you to chuck it harder into the next turn.

At idle the engine sounds grumbly and the power steering sounds like the Power Loader from Aliens. Unlike some four bangers, the engine note doesn’t improve with speed.

The market is thick with driver-friendly, quick-shifting, rev-matching paddle-actuated six or seven speed automatic transmissions. The Mazda5′s five-speed slushbox is not among them. 1,000 Hooniverse Points, right there.
The 153hp 2.3L four-pot works hard getting the Mazda5 to do anything but plod.

Los Angeles Auto Show-Toyota to bring a RAV4 electric vehicle to the market

Not a long time ago we’ve been presenting the partnership between Tesla and Toyota to bring a RAV4 electric vehicle to the market. Tesla-Toyota RAV4 promises more than Nissan’s Leaf – a true, clean 100 miles of pure electric driving no matter what the weather’s like or the temperature outside. s Toyota showcased a prototype of its highly anticipated new RAV4 EV at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, on the other side of the ocean, executives made a series of intriguing new announcements about the company's electric-drive vehicles.
The company currently sells eight hybrids in the United States-split between the Toyota and Lexus nameplates-and in September repeated its commitment to releasing six new models by 2012.

- Pricing for the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid will be in the 3 million yen ($36,000) range when that car is released in Japan in 2012. - Toyota still plans to release a fuel cell hybrid in Japan sometime around 2015.

Fourteen years after it launched its very first RAV4 crossover at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Toyota returned to Los Angeles to launch an all-electric version of its latest RAV4.

Japan’s largest automaker has worked with Silicon Valley electric-car maker Tesla since the May announcement that Toyota would buy a stake in Tesla and the companies would develop electric cars together.

The partnership will build 35 “Phase Zero” test versions of the latest RAV4 EV next year, with production launch expected in 2012.

Few technical details were released, and Toyota USA president and CEO Jim Lentz stressed that many details remained to be resolved. Styling changes to the all-white RAV4 EV unveiled at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show include a new grille front bumper, fog lamps and headlights up front. No cargo area was lost in the conversion; with the rear seats folded down, the RAV4 EV offers 73 cubic feet of storage, just as the current gasoline model does.

Performance Toyota is excited about the collaboration of Toyota and Tesla to create the all-new electric Toyota RAV4-EV, expected to hit Nebraska showrooms in 2012.

The all-electric Toyota RAV4-EV will combine the Toyota RAV4 model with a Tesla electric powertrain to give drivers maximum performance and versatility. A prototype of the Toyota RAV4-EV has already been created by Tesla and is currently being tested by Toyota. A first all-electric Toyota RAV4 was developed in 1997 and sold until 2003. The new Toyota RAV4-EV is expected to perform at higher speeds and have an even greater range.

Toyota and Tesla have not set a starting cost for the Toyota RAV4-EV, but it is expected to be lower than other all-electric vehicles from Tesla. Tesla hopes to drive down the cost of electric vehicles so they are within reach of mainstream buyers.

The New 2010 Ford Mustang

Like previous model years, the 2010 Ford Mustang ranges from inexpensive and unrefined, to moderately expensive and highly refined. Basic V-6 models remain largely untouched and still offer a stiff ride with a less than ideal steering system. High-end models are more reminiscent of luxury cars, except that they are still noticeably pony cars with a lot of power. Basic models are great for consumers looking to break into the performance car market without spending a lot of money, while high-end models will impress even the toughest critics.
2010 Ford Mustang cars have been revamped both outside and in. Larger wheels are the standard on all models, with more power for GT models, the addition of stability control as standard options on all models as well. Though still unrefined, handling has been improved slightly in basic models, and handling changes are very noticeable with GT models. High-end GT packages have a new suspension system that was originally made for the discontinued Bullit engines of the '09 season.
Engines available still include the aging V-6 4.0 liter engine, which although it is getting old, still puts out an amazing amount of power. Basic models are equipped with the V-6 and it starts at a much lower price than V-8 equipped models. Compared with the lower models from the re-introduced Chevy Camaro, consumers may find that all around quality is lacking in Ford's base models. Where the V-6 cars excel however is body styling and interior quality. Not just high end models benefit from the complete overhaul given to these pony cars.
GT models are the only logical choice for consumers who can afford and want a true luxury style powerhouse. The available V-8 engine with an additional 15 horsepower compared with the previous season. The enhanced suspension tuning has meant that the car is even more fun for drivers. Compared with it's closest competitor, the Chevy Camaro SS, the 2010 Ford Mustang is slightly smaller and a lot more nimble. Even the Dodge Challenger can't offer the responsive handling that the original pony car easily puts out.
Each engine is offered with two different trim packages. There is the V-6, V-6 premium, GT, and GT premium. Basic models come with a few accessories, with a CD player and full power accessories offered on the premium edition. GT models come with a great choice of interior upholstery and dashboard styling. GT premiums offer just every luxury a consumer could want, and the price tag certainly doesn't let them forget it.
Safety ratings are very impressive as well. Both side and frontal tests show that the Mustang is perfect in each category. The front side airbags and standard stability control certainly make this a much safer vehicle than previous model years. The addition of 4 wheel anti lock disc brakes also only adds to the safety offered to drivers and passengers. Fuel economy ranges from 16 mpg city to 24 mpg highway. Of course the smaller V-6 gets the best numbers, while high end models equipped with a V-8 get less.
The overhauled 2010 Ford Mustang is still an eye catching pony car that offers a lot of power. Fortunately, Ford has decided to offer a lot more performance capabilities with that power in the form of much needed suspension updates. Perhaps the best part of these cars is that they truly offer something for everybody. Consumers on a budget can own a performance model, and those who want only the best can get their own model of Mustang. Expect the 'Stang to remain the most popular American pony car.

2011 Chevrolet Aveo

The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo trails behind other cars in its class in most, if not all, aspects. Available as both a sedan and a five-door hatchback, the Aveo and Aveo5 offer the opportunity to get a new car at a used car price. With an MSRP of $11,965 for the sedan and $12,115 for the hatchback, pricing is the Aveo’s claim to fame.
Unfortunately, the Aveo doesn’t have much else going for it. The Aveo lacks safety features that competitors offer. Just keep in mind that the base Fiesta is priced a little over $1,300 more than the base Aveo.
Another vehicle to consider over the Aveo is the 2011 Honda Fit. Available only as a hatchback, it starts at nearly $2,800 more than the Aveo5. The base Fit also includes standard safety features like side-curtain airbags and anti-lock brakes -- which are unavailable in the base Aveo.
Base Versa sedans are available for $9,990, or nearly $2,000 less than a base Aveo. Both base model vehicles don’t offer much in the way of standard equipment, but the base Versa can be optioned with ABS, something unavailable in the base Aveo. The base Versa also comes standard with side curtain airbags, a safety feature unavailable on any Aveo model.
Many used vehicles also make better choices than the Aveo. Check out current Chevy deals that may be available on a new Aveo.
The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo is available in three trim levels; LS, 1LT and 2LT. LS models live up to their bottom-rung designation. Air-conditioning is standard on 1LT Aveo models.
Aveo 2LT models add features such as power windows and locks, cruise control and remote keyless entry to the standard features list.
Performance
In terms of horsepower, the average coupe/hatchback packs quite a punch and will knock the Chevrolet Aveo down a few rungs. Drivetrain
The Chevrolet Aveo's engine is tremendously smaller than the average coupe/hatchback's. Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Chevrolet Aveo over the average coupe/hatchback.
Convenience
You'll definitely take the Chevrolet Aveo for a fill-up roughly as often as the typical coupe/hatchback.
The Chevrolet Aveo offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the typical coupe/hatchback does.
Dimensions
The average coupe/hatchback is tremendously more bulky than the Chevrolet Aveo. The Chevrolet Aveo and the typical coupe/hatchback compete for the same parking spaces.
It costs almost the same to get the Chevrolet Aveo to the dealership as the average coupe/hatchback. With respect to gas mileage, the Chevrolet Aveo has the typical coupe/hatchback beat. The typical coupe/hatchback is tremendously costlier than the Chevrolet Aveo when it comes to MSRP. The typical coupe/hatchback will cost you a bundle in gasoline every year compared to the Chevrolet Aveo.
The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo, a smartly styled subcompact, offers excellent fuel economy, a long list of standard features and a bargain-basement price.

Citroen C3 reviews

After owning my little Citroen C3 for just over 6 years, the time has come to accept that this relationship has run its course and move on to better things--Like most relationships, this started so well.

To save you scratching your collective heads, it was how a friend described the panoramic Zenith windscreen, a standard feature on all but the base VT trim level. The Visiodrive is how Citroen puts it.
Measuring some 1.35 metres, from behind the bonnet to the start of the roof, the windscreen is around 36 per cent larger than the average for this size of car and whereas the driver's sight line is usually somewhere in the region of 28 degrees, in the new Citroen C3 it is more like 108 degrees.
The Citroen C3 benefits from a stiffened body with strengthened A-pillars and a sturdy, chromed framework to the screen. When the Citroen C3 first came out, the design majored on quirky, fun looks in a similar manner to the smaller cars in the Citroen stable. According to the Company, "the Citroen C3 represents an upmarket shift, while retaining an emphasis on value for money" - and it shows. The large trapezoidal front grille dominates the front end and replaces the twin grilles that were a feature of the outgoing model. This means more bonnet space for the new-look Citroen logo and large boomerang-shaped headlight clusters. For the new car, the window-lines have been raised and the windows themselves are narrower, which also helps to promote a sporty feel.
The Citroen C3 may look small, but it can deliver some very big features. You can opt for the 1.6 litre petrol engine which actually drives many small Citroen variants. Citroen has made sure that the 1.6 litre engine performs well - and it needs to in a such a competitive market place, with many of the japanese car makers offering very good small cars. The Citroen C2 HDi has the 1.6 litre turbo-diesel engine.

Porsche Cayenne Rack Up Awards‎

The Porsche Cayenne and Panamera series made by Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, are going down very well with Porsche customers worldwide.

The design language, created by Porsche Chief Designer Michael Mauer, is purposefully oriented on the design DNA taken from the company's sports cars, and most especially on the classic Porsche 911. No matter which angle you observe the Cayenne and Panamera from, the Porsche brand recognition is always there," Porsche informed.

This title is awarded to vehicles with the biggest potential for becoming classic cars. With sales of 29,855 vehicles, the Porsche Cayenne was the bestselling Porsche model in the 2009/10 business year, and a healthy 11,618 of these customers bought the new "Porsche Cayenne". The most sought-after Porsche Cayenne engine in Europe is the diesel, which was widely accepted on the market, whereas outside Europe the models powered by the V8 engine top their respective market segments.

Again, the "auto motor und sport“ readers voted it into first place in the luxury class in the "Die besten Autos” (best cars) vote. It was also awarded the coveted "Auto Trophy“ by the German "Auto Zeitung“ specialist magazine in addition to "Das Goldene Lenkrad“ (golden steering wheel) from "Bild am Sonntag“ and "Auto Bild“. Moreover, the luxurious Gran Turismo won a whole series of international prizes.

Judges and readers from the world’s top motoring magazines have put their opinions down on par during extensive surveys discussing the best cars for 2010 – in a plethora of categories. Both the Panamera and Porsche Cayenne have enjoyed the favor of knowledgeable journalists and the public alike, which goes to show just how popular they are.

In the case of the "Das Goldene Klassik-Lenkrad“ (the golden classic steering wheel) prize, issued this year for the first time by the Auto Bild Klassik magazine, the Porsche Cayenne won the title of "Klassiker der Zukunft” (classic car of the future) for the first time in the off-road-vehicle class, netting an astonishing 25% of the votes. On top of this, the Cayenne Diesel won the title of "Firmenauto des Jahres” (company car of the year) which was awarded jointly by the Firmenauto magazine and the Dekra independent inspection organization after extensive testing and comparison runs. Since then the car has enjoyed a 13% market share in the upper and luxury segment, currently dominated by the likes of Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. The Panamera has also decorated itself with several public and guild awards. Again, the Auto Motor und Sport readers voted it number one in the "Die besten Autos” (best luxury cars) class. It was also awarded the coveted Auto Trophy by the German Auto Zeitung specialist magazine in addition to "Das Goldene Lenkrad“ (golden steering wheel) from the Bild am Sonntag and Auto Bild publications. In addition, the luxurious Gran Turismo won a whole series of international prizes. The British Vehicle Dynamics specialist magazine gave it the Car of the Year and Dynamic car of the Year awards. In the USA, the editors of the Inside Line online magazine also awarded the Most Desirable Car award to the Panamera.

2012 Porsche 928 Reviews

Porsche introduced the new version of Porsche 928 in 2012. Porsche 928 has a very impressive performance, expensive car. The GT Coupe version has a V10 engine that can produce 605 horsepower. Handling is assisted with control-arm front suspension and multi-link rear. 2012 Porsche 928 version expect to pay more than $150,000.

What We Know About the 2012 Porsche 928
Britain's Autocar magazine reports that Porsche is eyeing a high-performance four-seat luxury coupe based on its first-ever sedan, the 2010 Panamera. Like other high-end brands, Porsche has seen sharp sales declines from the global economic downturn, so it's understandably loath to add another model until conditions improve. It would be the company's fifth "model line" after the Panamera, the Cayenne SUVs, the mid-engine Boxster convertible and Cayman coupe sports cars, and the various rear-engine 911 sports cars.

Autocar cites two motivations for a "2012 Porsche 928". Overall height shouldn't change much for the coupe. Ditto the Panamera's considerable width, aggressive front-end styling, and rear hatch door, the last a novelty in the high-dollar league.

As mules currently in testing suggest, Porsche has in development a third front-engined car. Coming after the successful Cayenne SUV, and the future Panamera saloon (expected in 2009), the third model will be a large four-seat coupe--2012 Porsche 928 GT Coupe

Comparing to the Panamera, the 928 GT Coupe will have a shorter wheelbase and will loose some weights. The "Porsche 928 GT Coupe" will be powered by the same engines used in the Panamera. Also the GT Coupe will use the 5.7 litre V10 engine producing 605 hp used in the Carrera GT.

As the Panamera is aimed against the top-class sports-luxury saloons, the new Porsche GT Coupe will have to deal with the Granturismo high-class, and elegantly mix performance and refinement.

2012 Porsche 928 GT Coupe--Being a front-engined coupe and also a GT model, it is expected the new 928 GT Coupe to compete with luxury models from the market like the 599 Fiorano and Aston Martin.

2011 VW Tiguan Reviews

The VW Tiguan's interior is a welcome departure from the plastic-trimmed cabin of the typical compact crossover. Even the VW Tiguan's road manners achieve a certain level of sophistication. The "VW Tiguan" styling cues place it somewhere between the larger VW Touareg SUV and smaller VW Golf hatchback. At the same time, the 2011 VW Tiguan comes up slightly short in terms of space and utility.

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV available in S, SE and SEL trim levels.
The SE adds 17-inch wheels, additional chrome exterior trim, foglights, a roof rack, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, heated washer nozzles, a power-adjustable driver seat, heated front seats, leatherette vinyl upholstery, a trip computer, a roof storage console and an upgraded touchscreen stereo with satellite radio and an iPod interface. The SEL 4Motion with Premium Navigation and Dynaudio option rounds off the Tiguan with all-wheel drive and an eight-speaker premium Dynaudio sound system. Options for all VW Tiguan models include a trailer hitch, side steps, a ground-effects kit of body pieces and 19-inch wheels.

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that produces 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. All trim levels come standard with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional on the SE and SEL.

Standard equipment on the VW Tiguan includes antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags.

the all-wheel-drive Tiguan 4Motion came to a stop from 60 mph in 126 feet -- an average performance. In government crash testing, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan was awarded a perfect five stars in all front and side crash categories.

With the rear seats positioned as far forward as they'll go, the VW Tiguan can accommodate 23.8 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan ranks 3 out of 24 Affordable Compact SUVs. Starting at $23,485, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan is one of the most expensive affordable compact SUVs. “The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan offers a different flavor in a vanilla class by trading some practicality for a top-notch cabin and European driving manners," says Edmunds.

Second, the Tiguan uses premium fuel and has one of the lowest fuel economy ratings in the class. If you can pass on the Tiguan’s sporty driving dynamics, German nameplate and meager cargo room, there are plenty of affordable compact SUVs that will meet your needs. The Honda CR-V surpasses the Tiguan when it comes to cargo space and utility.

Volkswagen has been making its version of the compact SUV, the Volkswagen Tiguan. For an affordable compact SUV, the Volkswagen Tiguan has always done well for itself despite its higher price point.

Pricing: Pricing for the 2011 Tiguan is expected to be $24,585, which will remain similar to the 2010 model pricing.

Engine: The 2011 engine will be a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-4 cylinder with 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque.
Transmission: The front wheel drive is controlled by a six speed manual or a six speed automatic with Tiptronic.

Car Safety Features: The Volkswagen Tiguan scored a perfect five out of five stars in 2010 across all frontal and side collision impact tests. Warranty: 3-year/36,000 miles
The 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan handles extremely well.

The Volkswagen Tiguan interior offers rear seats which move both backwards and forward for a full six inches in either direction. When the back seats are completely folded down, the Volkswagen Tiguan offers a roomy cargo space, but this is still smaller for the compact SUV class. Like with many good vehicles, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan has both pros and cons as well.

2011 Mazda RX-8 Reviews

enthusiastic drivers have purchased an 2011 Mazda RX-8 in the UK, won over by its truly exhilarating drive, fascinating super-smooth rotary engine and many unique features, combined with everyday reliability and practicality-- comments Mark Cameron, Sales Director, Mazda UK.

Powered by an improved version of the unique 231ps twin-rotor engine, the latest car delivers a heightened experience with faster steering, chassis and engine responses, more refinement, more equipment and even greater value.

The 2011 Mazda RX-8 ranks 3 out of 5 Affordable Sports Cars. The 2011 Mazda RX-8 has impressive handling dynamics and a roomy backseat, but loses points for its lack of low-end torque and fuel-thirsty, high-maintenance rotary engine.

In a class overrun by tiny roadsters and not-so-sporty sports cars, the Mazda RX-8 is a breath of fresh air. Test drivers report that the "2011 Mazda RX-8" performance faults spoil the fun. Though the 2011 Mazda RX-8 is powered by a rotary engine that weighs less than a traditional internal-combustion engine and generates a high rate of horsepower with little displacement, it requires constant maintenance.

The heart of the "Mazda RX-8" is its high-revving, 1.3-liter rotary engine called the Renesis. Current Mazda RX-8

The Mazda RX-8 is a four-seat coupe with a pair of rear-hinged "suicide" doors that ease access to the rear seats. Every RX-8 is powered by a 1.3-liter twin rotary engine, with an output that depends on the transmission. The R3 is a high-performance variant packing 19-inch wheels, an aggressively tuned suspension, Recaro sport seats, exterior body modifications and some of the other trims' high-tech convenience features.

Used Mazda RX-8 Models--Introduced for 2004, the Mazda RX-8 heralded the return of the rotary-powered sports car to the United States after a near decade-long hiatus. Initially, the RX-8's automatic transmission was a four-speed unit.

With its history of impressive car safety features, sharp interior features and decent engine specs, the Versa is a contender in the subcompact and economy car market. The MSRP on the "2011 Nissan Versa" ranges from $9,900 to $17,650.

Changes are light for the 2011 Nissan Versa: antilock brakes are now included with the upgraded 1.6 sedan trim, while the 1.8 S sedan gains a six-disc CD changer.

Cars at a certain bargain-basement price point used to be called penalty boxes. Like many subcompact cars, the Nissan Versa is available in four-door sedan and hatchback body styles and its most basic models offer little in the way of convenience features.
The "2011 Nissan Versa" is a subcompact car available in sedan and hatchback styles. The 1.8 SL adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, front and rear center armrests, 60/40 split rear seatbacks (sedan) and a six-speaker stereo. The sedan's Convenience package adds keyless ignition/entry, Bluetooth and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The 2011 Nissan Versa has a remarkably roomy cabin. Looks-wise, the car's interior is quite bland, but overall interior quality is high. The car's overstuffed front seats are comfortable during hour-long commutes, but support fades on longer drives.

The 2011 Nissan Versa ranks 26 out of 32 Affordable Small Cars. Just know that going from the base model to the next model up brings the Versa's price to just over $11,000. Also, if you're looking for a handy hatchback to zip around town in, the Versa's hatchback body style isn't available on the base model. While the Versa hatchback is a reviewer favorite, it starts at over $13,000.

While that means that the base hatch comes with more standard features than the base sedan, it also takes a significant chunk out of the Versa's value equation.

The Nissan Versa is largely unchanged for 2011. Antilock brakes are now standard on the Versa 1.6 sedan, but not the 1.6 BASE sedan. The Versa comes as a sedan or hatchback.

Audi Quattro Concept

Audi Quattro Concept is the company’s surprise at the Paris Motor Show, a model created for the celebration 30 years of Quattro technology.

It gets even better because Audi’s legendary Quattro torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system offers the concept a power to weight ratio close to that of the Audi R8 5.2 FSI.

Audi also revealed the Audi e-tron Spyder, an amazing diesel electric hybrid

Audi Quattro Concept
In the Audi quattro concept, the longitudinal FSI turbo produces 408hp and powers the car from 0-62mph in only 3.9 seconds.
September 30, 2010

It commemorates 30 years of quattro all-wheel-drive and specifically pays homage to the revered Sport quattro of 1984
Taking the V8-powered RS 5 Coupe as its basis, but configured to evoke the spirit of the 306hp legend, the new study combines an inline five-cylinder turbocharged engine developing 408hp with a lightweight body, a shortened wheelbase and latest-generation quattro drive. Audi engineers shortened the wheelbase by 150mm and lowered the roofline by around 40mm compared to the four-seat RS 5. As a result, the Audi quattro concept weighs just 1300kg, almost exactly the same as the original Sport quattro.
In another move that benefits the vehicle's weight, the eight-cylinder engine from the production model has been replaced under the hood by a turbocharged, inline five-cylinder engine that can trace its roots back to another Audi sports car - the TT RS.
In the Audi quattro concept, the longitudinal FSI turbo produces 408hp and powers the car from 0-62mph in only 3.9 seconds. The Audi quattro concept uses the latest evolutionary stage of the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system to deliver its power to the road.

In contrast to Sport quattro, the Audi designers also shortened the rear overhang by a total of 200mm to maintain the harmony of the basic proportions.

The wheel wells in the arched fenders are prominently flared - another excerpt from the design language of the Sport quattro. The strongly molded front skirt includes integrated carbon elements.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Just the name Bugatti Veyron Super Sport makes every post interesting! Only a few months ago the new Bugatti Veyron Super Sport achieved a land speed world record with 268 mph on Volkswagen Group’s proving ground at Ehra-Lessien nearby the German automaker’s Wolfsburg headquarters. In August, Bugatti presented the car in California for the very first time to the public at the prestigious 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Now, Bugatti has released a flood of new images of the Veyron Super Sport, revealing every tiny detail, from the hand-stitched leather to the 1,200 horsepower power gauge to the rivets of the car’s quad-turbocharged 16 cylinder W-18 engine.

The shots were taken at Spain’s Andalusia, where beautifully landscaped fields, green mountains and lonely roads, matched the beauty of the "Bugatti Veyron Super Sport" that roared through its hills.
Several months back we got our first look the the new Veyron Super Sport when Bugatti debuted the car by announcing it had been certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the World’s Fastest Car. Driven by Bugatti official test diver Pierre Henri Raphanel at the Ehra-Lessian high-speed test track in Germany, the Veyron Super Sport achieved a top speed of 267.81 mpg, far exceeding the original Veyron’s 253.81 mph speed.

Bugatti Veyron 1.6.4 Grand Sport

I did something in a Rs 16-crore Bugatti Veyron that perhaps not many people on this planet have done. No, it’s not the acclaimed 407 kph top speed run. Uh-huh. Did Bugatti hire him on his looks alone? I don’t think so, because not too long ago (July 4, 2010 to be precise), Pierre took the Veyron Super Sport to its top speed of 431.072 kph, making it the fastest production car in the world. And here he was, indulging an Indian who wanted to press the horn button of the fastest convertible/roadster in the world!

The thing about the Bugatti Veyron is that it’s like the Taj Mahal. You read all sorts of reports about it and you’ve seen its images so many times that you’re left jaded. There is so much hype surrounding the Bugatti Veyron and the surreal statistics that accompany it that your vision gets clouded; the hype refracts the way you look at it. Take for example what Pierre demonstrated before handing over the car to me: he took the Grand Sport to the top seventh gear quickly. By then, we were doing some stunning three-digit speeds on those narrow Alsatian roads cluttered with unsuspecting drivers. If it were any other car, can you imagine what would have happened?
I have been in very, very fast cars. In the Bugatti Veyron, with the official pilot demonstrating its ability to beat the laws of gravity-inertia-motion-physics-whatever, my head and body were of course pinned, but gently my thighs and legs became weightless as my legs were nearly lifted.

What everyday usability! I could drive this car to work daily back home in Mumbai and I am sure this automotive Taj Mahal would be up to it. The steering feedback was just right, the prodigious output was offered in measured doses and the four-wheel drive setup ensured that it never stepped out of line.

Depress the pedal and the whoosh behind acquires a cyclone-like spirit, while the turbos put together a whistling philharmonic presentation and the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport brings the horizon closer at a frightening pace. One more time. Depress the pedal again and this time, there were no half-hearted measures.

The engine noise exploded behind me in a frenzy and it felt as if a 737 was hovering behind as the pretty Alsatian countryside started disappearing backwards in fast-forward mode. I was doing 250-kph plus while Pierre was giving me some Bugatti spiel over all that noise. Of the 125-plus kgm of turning force that’s available between 2200 and 5500 rpm, 74 kgm is ready at as low as 1000 rpm.
Time to pull out another surprise from the Bugatti Veyron Box Of Miracles. Touch the brake pedal at those speeds and coming to the aid of those high-tech carbon-ceramic brakes was the rear spoiler that altered its angle sharply and quickly to behave like an air brake, not unlike the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLRs of yore. The brakes, by the way, haul the Veyron from 100 kph to zero in 2.3 seconds. Yes, the Veyron is actually quicker to stop than to accelerate. I don’t know how Ettore Bugatti would have taken it. Turning off the highway, I made my way back to the Bugatti factory in Molsheim in crawl-mode, all the way whining to Pierre about how time passes so fast in an ultra-fast car. What sort of car is this anyway? Whatever it may be, it is truly an engineering marvel, not just an automotive engineering marvel. Ettore Bugatti would be happy.

Exclusive Motors, who sell cars from many an iconic car brand like Lamborghini and Bentley have picked up the gauntlet to sell and tend to the handful of Veyrons that the handful of Indians rolling in the green stuff would buy. Bugatti flew in Guy Caquelin, their Sales and marketing manager, Europe, Middle East and India, to pull the wraps off the Bugatti Veyron GrandSport 16.4 along with the Managing Director of Exclusive Motors, Satya Bagla.
Cost of the Bugatti Veyron GrandSport: INR 16 Crores, and that is the starting price. If you feel like, you can burn some more money and customize your Veyron to a great degree.
